This will be huge! Will Wright is a gift to us and every generation he has flipped the script and the best part is that EA can't get their greedy hands on it. Will hated being told what to do that's why he left Maxis and he lost his children SimCity, Sims and Spore to a bunch of fools who don't understand the core mechanics.

Will Wright: "I don't follow the industry that closely" translates to "They aren't making anything intelligent and I don't care. The thing about Will Wright is that he is so interested in sciences and pulls information from the real world to make intricate and educational games. We need his mind in more videogames!

Proxi sounds like a legitimately novel game concept, and very cool if pulled off right. My question for Mr. Wright is to what level of detail can we give our memories shape within the game? bad memories tend to stick with us longer and can be remembered more vividly than the good ones. Will we be able to input the traumatic experiences that shaped us, like the death of a loved one, or childhood abuse/neglect, as well as the brand-safe/fluffy experiences like going canoe'ing with a parent/spouse? Without the bitter memories, the sweet ones have no context.
@teamproxi75105 жыл бұрын
Hi! Proxi Team here! You can give a memory as much depth as you'd like and can enter any memories you want. This will be your private space to explore any experiences you value. Memories are represented as images, text, and 3D objects. All types of memories are valued and Proxi encourages exploring the full range of emotion in your memories.

I can only play the Sims 2 base game on an old Windows 7 now. I MISS Will's special touch SO MUCH! How I wish he could take all the best of all the Sims/SimCity/Spore games and turn it into a MEGASims WORLD kind of game that can be played on ANY computer now, without all that DLing nonsense. But with all the ability to build your own CC right in the game with all kinds of creative tools. Please, please, please Will... let it be! I Miss my Sims 2 games sooo much now that I actually get tears when I can't play it, anymore.

I wish we still had these sort of innovators creating new concepts. Felt like things were going a million miles a second back then, now almost every popular game is essentially just a clone of games that have existed for 20 years. Lots of them are great games of course, but they're just not new games.

Ok, it's an AI learning based associative (bias) connection engine? How do I even interface with this? it just sounds like I'll have a mindmap as the output, but the input is what exactly? Pictures? Texts? Questionnaires? Have it read my palm, horoscope AND crystal ball?

use lucid dreams as a monitor to conquer grief when you wake in the morning and actucally relive memories. AR allows us to use lucid dreams as a monitor by using of sleep movements, breathing patterns, and snoring to interactively activate audibles to remind us of what to visualize. (lucid dream when you wake by focusing on visualizing moving your hands in your mind only when falling back to sleep then control anything you want to dream) Lucid dreams used as a monitor is the foundation for mind externalization. [and on a side note to get rid of a case of "reeses puffs" (aka memories) try shoveling (something ancient in it that drys them up real quick) you can use competitive sandcastle building as an excuse.]

It's kind of hard to feel like this next thing from Will will go anywhere, but partially along these lines, I've been wondering what Ken Levine's been up to. The last thing I knew, he was looking into the possibilities of procedural storytelling in games. But I think it's still going to be kind of primitively disappointing for a while. Oh, though I haven't played Dwarf Fortress or Rimworld or any of those yet myself. Idk.
@lostuser10945 жыл бұрын
Josh Russell Levine’s (according to his twitter) working on this procedural storytelling thing daily since 2014. I’ve a hunch we’ll start to see results around 2021.

I love Will Wright, but this is still miles off how AI will apply to games. He's addressing a "Strong AI" which doesn't exist. Don't get drunk on this, he's a great designer but this is not how things will progress.
