I loved this show, although many of the jokes are specific for the time and don't carry very well to this times. It was popular enough to carry special guest stars like Minnie Driver (my favorite), John Cleese, Madonna, Britney Spears, some of them playing themselves, like Kevin Bacon and Jennifer Lopez. For a non HBO, it was very risqué at the time.

Karen is awesome in this show. Not just because she is sex positive and down for anything, but also because she acts like she doesn't give a damn about much of anything, but deep inside, she does care for her friends (including Rosario and her frenemy Beverly Leslie. May they both rest in peace). That dinner scene with Diane was a gift that kept on giving. So much hilarity and everyone executing their character's performances perfectly.

I watched this show on DVD with my parents when I was little, like 12 years old if not less. I understood I am bi at 18. I always loved the show but Karen was my favorite and still is. Now I can see why haha and I want and need to rewatch the show, it is like watching it with whole other new eyes

Also, to be fair, there are people who are straight and try having a relationship with the same sex as an experiment (even later in life). Sexuality is fluid. I don't think this was politically motivated at all.

@@savetheplanet2563Yes as a bi, I get this but it certainly doesn’t help when you have people pretending to be gay which adds to the perception that you can turn it on or off like a light switch. When I was in college, I used to hate seeing straight women kiss each other for attention especially, from men. It was mainly done by sororities and party girls because it was “fun.” It’s offensive to see some straight people, mainly women, mock and invalidate same sex couples in this manner.
