The unit looks great and has a lot of useful functions. In another review, I saw that the pads unfortunately read the velocity of the stroke incorrectly. Have you noticed this problem? I hope it had an update that fixed it.

The Mallet Station is scetchy. The velocities for each trigger are all over the place. The MalletKat has been rock solid for decades.

Can you recommend and amplifier/powered speaker to add to the EM1?

I already owned a Roland v drums amp for my son’s kit and use with my El Cajon processor, and it works perfectly. It’s already engineered for full range of percussion instrument sounds and the wedge design makes it perfect for directing sound at me and out of the pit. Lol. A nice keyboard amp will do the trick as well.

I have notice that wth hitting my EM1 pads/bars wth no matter how mellow of a mallet, everytime I strike a key it makes such a thumping sound that drives me nuts, and it cannot be my Stand I do not believe as I have the very best poss. If anyone here has the same issue, can you tell me what you use to quiet the racket? If anyone here has a Malletkat, can you tell me if there is any differ?

No sustain on a marimba! (other than the natural sustain sound).
