As an 80s kid who started collecting Hot toys during Covid time. this T2 2.0 announcement is the greatest moment for me ever (Robocop 3 was also epic :) ). jungle hunter is next on the list!

I’m with Natalie . Just because the hobby and the community is niche and thus not so big ,doesn’t mean there aren’t influencers . And ,especially for the new folx in the hobby, the influencers play a huge role of where people find trusted retailers . And those that align themselves with shady stores and promote them despite knowing they were shady ,and after getting many people stuck with scammers, switching to another shady place and saying “ but do your own research ,or get my discount coupon “ ,make a disservice to the community . There are influencers ,anyone with a platform who is influencing even a single person to make a choice is an influencer ,and people with platforms and people who listen to them,should be aware of the responsibility they have towards their fan base.

Another great stream! Interesting to hear the debate in tailoring. I have the Thrawn and the tailoring didn’t bother me at all. I did have a few QC issues though so maybe that distracted me form the tailoring 😂 will have to check it again now haha

I have to agree with Natalie, I've been collecting for as long as I can remember, have been collecting 1/6 for 20+ year back when Sideshow was at the top and cost around 30-40 for a figure, but always good to see 2.0 or 3.0 as long as there's improvements, as for people saying the original loses value when Hot Toys reissue or make 2.0s, ask yourself a question, do you get figures because you're a collector or an investor? If you're looking for investment you probably need to think about a new hobby.

Natalie was spot on about the influencer. Biggest issue is when someone influencers, helps out scamming companies. We know of two names straight away and neither are good for the community. Young collectors will go to channels (large subscribers) see they got this figure day one, they got it from this company. That will influence that person to buy from them. Simple. I think if you're a youtuber, you need to be honest and if you mention a name, thats its a honest seller at that time of saying, plus you make it clear to check out reviews and make your own decision that's best for you. Will does that, but those other two (we know) haven't and led a lot of people to being scammed. Not to mention about their horrible antics that's been seen. Anyway hats of to Natalie, shes a cool decent human and I think it's nice to share something good about someone. Good live stream all three 👍

For me I don’t think influencers really do anything except the fact that they’re basically working for free and getting paid in free products to endorse them and in return they get more followers. But I will have to say that both Will and Keco has influenced my collection but not in a way of buying whatever they say it’s good or not, for me they influenced me to enjoy my collection more and to appreciate what I already have and not chase after figures that everyone is showing off on their socials. PS: Will can I get a pinned comment for this? 👊🏻

Have to say for a while, especially getting into the hobby i relied heavily on "influencers" to help me make decisions on thr figures i want..not because i didnt want them but because they are so freaken expensive..im.canadian and with exchange and duty the standard price for a bare bones basis hot toys figure is like $450-$500. Heck artisan anakin from sideshow is costing me $700!

I will be in the minority on this; while I love T2 - the T1000 (Robert Patrick is awesome), badass Sarah Connor, the set-pieces and effects... I'm more of a fan of the original. I like Arnie way more as the bad robot than I do him as the guardian, Michael Biehn as Reese was outstanding. I prefer T1's more gritty, atmospheric, horror styling, that mostly takes place at night. It's less "Hollywood" and more Indie, and feels like it could take place in the same World as Assault on Preclnct 13, The Thing, The Warriors. What Cameron achieved with his $6 million budget was incredible.

I believe there is a difference between a straight reissue (no changes at all except updates to paint app and possibly a different or less accessories) and a 2.0 (usually something new such as head, base, accessories, body). I feel a lot of people use those terms interchangeably. I understand the value issue, though not my concern, but when it is many many years between releases, you had that time to have the figure for yourself, now time to share that joy with other collectors. Again, everyone has their own thoughts, just trying to educate like Keco

Based on the video released by Sideshow Collectibles, i am sooooo happy i did not pre_order Beetlejuice 1/6. The other issue is, i have zero love for the Hot Toys Beetlejuice. For the moment it makes sense to wait and see some in hand images of the Sideshow Beetlejuice.

Got to disagree with Natalie. I’m not a fan of gatekeeping a collection. I get it you don’t want to over saturate the hobby with re releases and 2.0s but with that said people join at different times. If you joined now and wanted the bad batch you’re SOL. Bare minimum spending 2k. With that said I think there has to be a balance and can’t oversaturate like they did and have figures prices plummet to the point that you might as well wait till the aftermarket to buy like I did for carnage when I got it for 410 when it was 590 brand new

I want a Hot Toys MMS136 - Terminator ARNOLD TECH NOIR Artisan (real hair). I also want a Hot Toys Endoskeleton die-cast. I have no interest in the Hot Toys Terminator T-800 2.0 The only Terminator 1/6 scale in my collection is Sarah Connor from T2 (..i also own a 1/3 statue of Sarah Connor from T2 by Darkside Studio).

Honestly I don’t think the likeness is all that great for this new T-800. Still ordering it to pose both looks alongside my DX13 but cool for people to be able to own one of the most iconic characters in movies

I like the sculpt. The paint apps could be better though for the blood, chrome, skin tone and hair - Arnie's hair was brown and almost red in some scenes, like when John's teaching how to smile.

Nah, because Terminator is a much bigger franchise with more iconic characters. I think they'll be more characters coming from the Terminator franchise in the future. I think we'll definitely see a clean T-800 and T-800 Endoskeleton 2.0 diecast. I can also see a 2.0 of Sarah Connor and the T-1000 possibly.

Why is HT creating older figures of iconic characters HAN, INDY, NEO… but as a collector, I want the characters in their prime not older aged versions …do y’all think HT are legally obligated to create current aged actor older versions rather than the figures collectors actually want? I thought the latest Indy film was bad, but I would consider the de-aged INDY in the film …why would HT choose the older version rather than that version?
