I really wanted this figure and got railroaded by a terribly handled release. It had absolutely nothing to do with exclusivity for me and I'm sure it was the same for many other passionate collectors. You can't compare this to the Mark 46 not being sold out yet. That only means that they made way more than 300 Mark 46s. I RSVP'd as soon as the opportunity was made available, immediately attempted to add Cap to cart when the order went live, and my cart was repeatedly emptied as the site kept crashing. This went on for 3 hours. Meanwhile jokers who didn't even really want the figure and only bought it to "see if they could" are bragging about it on FB just because the servers worked in their favor that day. Exclusivity only helps those who want to resale and dogs out the collectors who genuinely love the figures.

Yep, I think there were people who successfully and unsuccessfully ordered this figure. I'm still surprised only 300 were made.

This practice could end up turning off collectors. Look at the decline of Funko Pops. Will this become the next Beanie Babies? Collect figures you enjoy displaying and posing -- don't use them as a retirement strategy. The manner in which Sideshow announced the online availability of this figure was a complete debacle.

Cap figures never sit that long. I don’t believe the claim that they’d be sitting is entirely true. I don’t believe they understand the demand. Look at captain America hot toys reviews on KZbin. Their numbers soar past other marvel characters. More people have awareness of captain America than any number of the 40 different iron man releases. To say it would still be sitting like any number of iron man figures is odd. They release a new iron man every three weeks lol, Cap is rare so comparing the two doesn’t feel accurate.

finally west world collectors feel the frustration on preorder toys. Hong Kong Collectors already got used to it. The most hottest SHF preorder in Premium Bandai always sold out in just less than 1 min. I never could preorder the hot items in Premium Bandai successfully. Rumor said some people wrote program to keep the server busy so that others could not enter the site and then they could preorder all what they want.

I do think there are consequences to SS. I have been pulling back from buying through them, including canceling 7 preorders recently. I can buy cheaper and fewer hassles from overseas without the discount code games, expiring reward points, etc. this was one more nail…

I think the downfall that sideshow did if you know you only ordered 300 batches they should have limited the sign up to just 300 instead of everyone but I guess in their mind if 300 was able to get this Captain America and the rest worldwide didn't then their way of apologizing would be to give them 30% off I signed up for this figure not wanting it just wanted to see if something would happen and 30% off was given to me and I was able to Discount Grogu set that I will be getting soon
