Love this singing. It's available for a price on Amazon.com I don't recognize the sopranos nor the countertenors. The tenors Paul Elliott and Rogers Covey-Crump, as well as the baritone and bass, Maurice Bevan and Michael George, sang on many Hilliard Ensemble recordings. Paul Elliott also sang previously with the Consort of Musick, directed by Anthony Rooley, that featured his wife Dame Emma Kirkby on the high part. Paul Hillier must have lured them away. Hard to believe that this Cantiones sacrae (1575), co-written with Thomas Tallis, lost money.

The very modern composed "ATTOLITE PORTAS" from William Byrds Cantiones Sacrae 1575 - the greatest motets which were ever composed on this planet ! Thank you for this wonderful recording (Deller Consort;Mark Deller)! I hope I'll find "ASPICE DOMINE,QUIA FACTA EST DESOLATA CIVITAS" too :)
