If I won an "ultimate fishing prize", which I could create for myself, then this is one of the guys I would take a seasons fishing with and it would sit right at the top of the list of things that made up the prize. Excellent video, thanks!!

Regarding Cousteau's discovery, the salmon need to die in their natal streams/rivers for the river's to remain productive.

I can't think of a lure that gets hit as hard as a bucktail. Nothing better than popping out of a rock and getting that stopped hit! 🎣💯😎

Want it now! So true. They are stacked at one location while a few guys sneak off and remain patient for the 1, 2 or three fish a year. Take a picture, go home and remain quiet for a while. They don't go on instaface or americas online.

darn this whole video is spot on with how new fisherfolk want it all now and easy...hence their addiction to using a 9-hook 3.5" lure to catch surf perch here on the west coast....they think they are fishing because 90% of their hook-ups are fouled and the never learn to actually fish just chuck & pray. Oh and take 2-3min with fish out of the water to weigh, measure, fawn and take pics until they get the attention of anyone on the beach for 1/2mi in each direction, and oh yeah, call their wife, cousins and kids over 1 12" bar perch. Not trying to be mean, they are clearly in love with fishing but they never really took time to learn to fish as they grew into it more...I see them go out and grab a Dark Matter rod and a VS VX to catch these 'cagy' leviathans of the first 30yds of the surf.

You know, Oregon and Washington on the west coast are way ahead on the conservation issue. Also Florida has a good model. Plus they invest more than any state in the fishery.

@@billrom795 sorry....never heard of him, my age too.I might be a hair younger. he never was on the beach of maryland or virginia. I would have ran into him or him me. I've been throwing glass rods since the early 70's into the surf

I wish all that fish would watch this professor speak of what you as a fisherman is expected of and adhere to the rules. Many that catch fish unhook them improperly by trying to jag the hook out of the fishes lips having no remorse knowing they are hurting or killing the fish. Those that don't care should get huge fines, i don't want to hear the hook was too deep , just cut the damn hook.

Just a legend and sharing wisdom. How about immigrants to the US keeping EVERY SINGLE fish they catch. It's devastating and harmful.
