He really was, it was different from other roles he had been in, no longer was he the stern militaristic authority figure everyone had come to see him as but someone that everyone of all ages could look up to, even his own granddaughter looked up to him and enjoyed his work on doctor who,

Well the burning or Rome which is much more fucked up when you realize how many people died in that. The First Doctor was a monster and I loved him for it. You can really see how The Doctor got on well with The Master in his earlier years.
