@@dee2251 Actually, during Sadiq Khan's mayoral tenure, crime in London, including knife crime, increased at a lower rate than it did across England and Wales, for which the total recorded crime rate, from March 2016 to September 2023, was 35%. The increase in London, throughout the same period was 18%. Keir Starmer is a Human Rights lawyer, and has fought for the abolition of the death penalty in Countries like Uganda. That is true. Many people admire him greatly for that fact. Whether or not you support the death penalty is no excuse for trotting out extreme right wing propaganda against any politician. British politics doesn't need such fanaticism. It needs truth and reasoned debate, not skewed hateful ranting. Incidentally, the death penalty was abolished in Britain in 1998, the last execution having taken place in 1964, so Mr. Starmer accurately reflects the British stance of such executions. You're clearly from some Country that still implements the death penalty.

For some reason, I've not been a fan of Ed Sheeran - don't really know why - but I think he's hit the nail on the head with great accuracy. From what you've said previously, Neil, and what others have echoed, I am not happy to make a trip to London any time soon, it sounds like the London I once knew is well and truly gone under the weight of restrictions and unpoliced crime.
