Princess Kate made a stunning return to royal duties when she appeared at Trooping the Colour on Saturday.
It is understood her appearance does not herald a return to front-line public duty or an end to Kate's cancer issues.
However, it is a positive step in the right direction after the mum began treatment at the end of February.

I was asking one of the trolls why they were saying the absolutely vile lies about Princess Catherine and we exchanged a few comments and I found out from her that she was actually still a kid at high school and her and most of the girls in her year were doing this because they were obsessed with Meghan and for some reason hated Catherine because of Meghan. She didn’t have any answer for me when I asked her what had Catherine ever actually done or said in public to Meghan to cause them to hate her so much. I'm calling it: Catherine looked fine (if by fine we also accept that she looked skeletal) BUT she was not her old self at all. There was a lack of connection, a sense of melancholy. I know Catherine's a shy and private person so I doubt we'll ever hear her actual thoughts and feelings once she's come out of this. I have so much respect for her, so knowing what she did to get through would be of interest to others.

I was wondering if she was overly conscious knowing that ALL eyes would be on her (more so than usual). Of course she wasn't her old self, what a silly comment. She's been through extremely serious surgery, a cancer diagnosis and treatment, and endured an online bullying campaign so vicious it did, and still does (because it is ongoing) make most normal people feel sick with horror. Putting herself back in the public gaze with her kids under those circumstances must have been absolutely terrifying, especially for a person who is naturally diffident, as she is. She was quite possibly on medication, for pain, or to calm her nerves, or both. She didn't show it, but it was quite likely a huge ordeal. That is courage, and devotion to duty and family.

Yes, the abdominal surgery would have put her out of commission for about 6 month. Add in chemo and it seems she is on a 6 month course of treatment. Most chemo patients will tell you that even a year after the last treatment they are still feeling the effects and recovery is slow. It must be hard for Catherine as she likes to be active and productive. Chemo saps your energy quite a bit.

King Charles is an amazing man and is respected by those who really know him. An unhappy marriage is quite commonplace, but obviously not good from a royal perspective. It is evident that he and Camilla truly love each other and have been happily married for many years. Camilla has really 'held the fort' while Charles has been ill and she deserves respect for that.
