Mr. Nicholson did a wonderful job writing the screenplay. It was both entertaining and portrayed what happened, sometimes not exactly how it happened, but accurately describes events. My 2 favorite scenes are 1) when John says to Rick, "somebody has to come up with something. Crazy is better than nothing, we've got nothing." Then, when Rick says to John " we call Dr. Harris," John puts his hand to his forehead and says, " that's brilliant", showing he understood the solution to dealing with the boys' panic. This scene gets across getting Dr. Harris to Thailand as well as Jason Mallinson and Chris Jewell. My other favorite scene is the closed window shade meeting with Governor Narongsak when the Governor says, "sedated, how sedated?" Joel Edgerton's acting in this scene is magnificent. His facial expressions and eyes go so well with the message he is delivering. Finally, Mr. Nicholson's view why Rick and John don't consider what happened a miracle, rings so true. It was a technical accomplishment, they worked on the plan, practiced, and did it.
