You don't understand how talented this people is until you try to do it yourself. Billy Corgan ain't Nuno Bettencourt on guitar or Chris Cornell on vocals, but I don't know anybody who could sing like that over difficult rhythm parts and even solos. This guy is an all arounder, very underrated
@cablecutter126 ай бұрын
He's definitely one of the greatest songwriters ever.
@JamesWilson012 ай бұрын
I would say his guitar playing is underrated off the charts. He could've been Nuno if he'd dedicated himself purely to the instrument but instead took the path of a singer / songwriter / front man. But make no mistake, he's still a guitar virtuoso as it is.

100% true. I’m utterly, utterly passionate about guitar and rock songs but gave up trying to sing and play Billy’s songs in my 20s, when I realized it was just too difficult to pull off convincingly and decided to stick to the instrumental side of things only.

Fondly remember playing this cause i was on a sort of binge yet at the same time been knowing the pumpkins so little and for a short amount of time at the time cause i only happened to come back to them resurfacing back (thats a long ass story though, i told it whole somewhere else, dont even know if that place is still up here, will point it out later) It was 'only' three years ago at the time im typing this, yet of course, needless to say it feels like much more. With my same guitar, ugly, dirty, cheap, maybe strings missing (now i only got 3 left which is half of it and im good with it been fine with it up to now cause ive been playing it this way consistently, it's cool in more than one way) i was there getting around songs like these oh yes snail was indeed one i was fond on and still am I wasnt even playing with any intent of putting out some sort of perfect rendition or anything, quite the contrary, as i do usually, playing casually... So many things were different back then, some the same, some were just starting to take a little peep (hey lil peep😛 yea i said it) round the corner, things to come, already in motion, about to let me know now that im able to look at them more clearly, the fucking ruthless hindsight, so dull and unneeding of being told or explained so independent and absolute, an imperative of consciensce, it brings awareness Well theres a reason why i mentioned the place im coming from, as in that 'long ass story' i told i laid down somewhere else. As far as it goes, and as i recall, i basically knew the pumpkins just because of their notoriety, i heard of them and maybe it could be possible that i heard or listened to something by them overtime. Then, years later, this is what i recount in that other comment, i manage to come back to a video that had been taken down in the meantime. Said video is none than what basically was my introduction to the sp, an early 90s billy acoustic intimate performance in some hotel room while being interviewed by some blonde (?) cute young girl You may find it i guess by looking for something along the lines of 'billy corgan acoustic early 91 etc...' it's a set featuring tracks like la dolly vita obscured and snail...pre gish era if im not mistaken, was about to happen Treat songs such as rhinoceros like teasers Magical❤ Given i lost track of said video overtime, i might have remembered about it one day and thats a clear sign it struck me evidently (how could it not) and thats how after grueling research i finally managed to track it back For quite some time my only knowledge of the smashing pumpkins been this only video, with these sparce yet lush and vibrant acoustic renditions of classics, but that i only learned later (: Yea i did a mess, it's a mess of a message and a mess of a story, but thats where i come from, thats why seeing corgan playing a song like snail here brings me all the way back to this hell of a backstory
