You nailed it Mr Prince. I know I am going to die one day, and I know my girl will live on, and she'll be ok, meet her fears and her challenges and her pain and her future with courage because that's who she is. But I wish I could be there to ...well just be there, until the second last day of her life, even if she doesn't need me to be there at all.

Firstly, I am not a country music fan [house music actually] but I first heard Mr. Prince's voice the other day on CBC radio 2 & I was memorized by his haunting voice. I felt compelled to find out more. Hearing/watching this song suddenly brought my to tears. My wife & I are parents to a wonderful 5 year old boy and this song struck at the core of what I think it means to be "dad" Thank you, William Prince. :-)

Life, and music, are about figuring out what really matters. William Prince is one of the rare, gifted, moving artists who got that truth and conveys it better than anyone I know. Thank you, William Prince, for yet another beautiful and moving song and video. Breathless these earthly days I am -- thank you.

I adore William Prince... But this song hits me so hard. I was not able to have children; I would've given ANYTHING to have been able to experience what this song describes. 💔

Tell me your dreams Make them as big as you can So then they have the best chance of maybe working out Sometimes nothing works out sometimes Don't be alarmed Don't shy away when you're in the wrong I can testify to what it's like being Lost inside yourself, a personal hell I wanna live to the second last day that my children do Selfishly so I can see them through And all that they become That's all I'll ever become Spend it all Every last bit that you have If you need to buy back the piece you lost To the upkeep of renting a room for your soul I can see how Every last downfall of man Could one day lead to the end if we can't find harmony And treat others like we'd like to be treated Fair I know it's not really fair That don't mean the outcome you should Be decided solely by the income of people Who don't need it for livin' Still... I wanna live to the second last day that my children do Selfishly so I can see them through And all that they become That's all I'll ever become

I also found out through Kieth's video just now. Can't bring myself to wipe away the last sweet tear yet. So happy I heard this song first. Even though I have no children of my own, this is how I feel about all children, about all of us. Everyone was born innocent.
