William Shatner on George Takei : A Stern response part 3

You know, sometimes people come across one way or another, and their intentions don't match up with way others perceive them to be. For example, shy people are often erroneously perceived as "stuck up" or uninterested. A person who has a difficult time multitasking might unintentionally ignore someone, or be terse with them because they have something else on their mind. If William Shatner is upset that he wasn't invited to George Takei's wedding, and George Takei doesn't understand why he would be upset being as they were not close, then what is probably going on here is that William Shatner, though he might have treated others in a way which they perceived as rude or arrogant, had never intended to come across that way, and in his mind, was closer to George Takei than George Takei was to him.. It's possible that Leonard Nimoy is able to get along with William Shatner because he challenged the idea that WS was ill meaning, and found that the exterior impression WS gives is incorrect.

Well to be fair, Takei was only really a regular in season one. After Chekhov came on, he kind of fell into the background.

Takei was one creepy mofo like. I get the feeling if he was straight he would have been evicerated by the me2 movement 😂

I consider myself a Shatner fan but he comes across as incredibly narcissistic when he calls George "In effect, a total stranger" and then in the same breath insists George should feel some pang of compassion for "lonely old Bill Shatner."

That doesn't really excuse Shatner's behavior of course, I just kind of felt like mentioning it, because I was sort of surprised when I saw it myself.
