@pdoylemi
@pdoylemi 2 жыл бұрын
@@Patrick_Ross The answer is that we don't know. In the early days of flying, it was a luxury for the very rich, and even later, as it became more accessible, it was still the "Jet Set" few ordinary people could afford to fly. Here is a perfect example from 1981. I was an E-3 in the Navy - making a bit over $600/mo. My brother was getting married in Michigan and asked me to be in the wedding party. The round trip ticket was over $1,200 dollars! That's almost $3,700 today! Luckily, military personnel got a 50% discount then, so I could manage to pay - but it cost a month's wages. Today (ironically) that brother lives in San Diego and I live in Michigan, and I can get tickets for (usually) around $300 or $100 or less in 1981 dollars, to go see him. People have to push the envelope - sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. I think the physics works against this - but for all we know these first steps will allow ordinary people to travel to the other side of the world in just minutes. But even if that does not happen, if we can make the experience of going to space something that millions can afford - that is worth it. What is the value of movies, music, books, Disney World, sports. etc? At their best they enrich the human mind and spirit, and make life worth living.

Later in the day he needed a ride back to his hotel room. He approached her for a ride. She had a small Toyota and he is tall so he had to squeeze himself in. She thought it was funny because the guy got stuck at the horse show was rude, then got a ride from her. None the less she didn't want an autograph from a person who was rude. So from Toyota to outer space.

Think about the amount of respect Bezos gave to 90-year-old William Shatner trying to express some heartfelt emotion with him, and having Bezos blow him off to mess with some champagne. Technically the first two US astronauts (Alan Shepard and Gus Grissom) each also only had a little over 15 minute flights. The duration of flight is not what makes you an astronaut. It's your role that does so. Many airline passengers spend more time in the air than certified pilots. They are still not called aviators for that.

Depends who does it. Trump was allowed to do whatever he wanted, and they didnt care. But as soon as biden tries to do his job, all of a sudden its a problem. I don’t think republicans actually wanted us liberals to like trump. Because they keep using the “not my president” excuse. Then they say “my body my choice” when talking about vaccines but still are anti abortion. The republicans don’t want to get anything done. Their idea of doing something good is pissing us off. Thats why i love joe biden. He “lives in their head rent free” and they have JBDS (joe biden derangement syndrome) yet they won’t admit that.
