Many thanks for that unboxing/tutorial William. i've been into wood turning for an even shorter time than you so welcome all the advice I can get. I loved the way that you left all the blemishes in rather than having a cut away on the video with just a description of what had happened. Consider yourself having gained another subscriber.

Thank you very much, John, I've come a little since I did this, with some perseverance. Yes, I like to show mistakes too so others can learn.

A very well explained introduction to the router jig showing problems and your solutions for solving them. I think the rolling pin might produce some interesting pastry shapes!!! Thanks James

A very thorough part 1 William, I like that you showed errors and solutions to your method, so that the viewer learns with you as you go, feels like I'm standing with you, great stuff mate. Looking forward to part two. Cheers Mike

Thanks Mike, always happy to share my errors least others don't do the same, anyway it would not be fun if it were not a challenge.

Welcome Maggie, glad you found it useful. Took me a little time to master it. But like all woodturning equipment, its use is only limited by your imagination!

I don't know what made me and with the first video of this series. I see that you've purchased the kit and our just practicing with it for now. I do want to say it should bring many different possibilities into your turnings! Many blessings to you and your Channel. I will be watching.

Bill on the jig there is 2 off sets that hold the guide bush. On the earlier model there was only 1 off set. Now on the model you have this one has 2 off sets. I am a little confused as to why they have added a 2nd one. Can you enlighten me please. Thanks Lin

Hello William, Thanks to you i am now a proud owner of a fluting jig and thanks to you I’ve made fewer cockups than expected. I’m sure I’ve heard you say that you would send a copy of your spread sheet for working out iterations and router bit size. If i got this right, how do i get a copy, are you going to the week3nder in July? If so I’ll stump up a fursty ferret or three. Thanks for the vids I’ve learned a lot. Ps please don’t bring that other bloke who looks like you he seems a bit of a kill joy.

What router do you use that fits the fluting jig? Thanks.
@dwilmot5 жыл бұрын
It might help to add a little weight to the front of the jig base. That might counter the weight of the router.
@WilliamHuntLatheCraft5 жыл бұрын
Hi Daniel, I have since found that holding the jig correctly counters this problem. A hand firmly on the base and not to push the jig.
@dwilmot5 жыл бұрын
@@WilliamHuntLatheCraft I watch your second video and saw the jig base. The jig was the way to go instead of the weights. Keep up the great work. I really like your way of teaching.

Which router are you using
@peterleffler20626 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul. My very limited router experience suggests that you will do well if you do a shallow first cut (all the cuts) followed by another cut or cuts to deepen to the desired depth. If you get greedy with your cuts then the router is hard to control and the cutting is less efficient and not as clean. - but I think that you have already realised that! Now moving to your other video! Cheers Peter

Sorry I do of course mean William! My eye just fell on the jig name at the wrong moment. Apologies!

Peter Leffler thanks for the advice Peter, I had read this but forgot to implement it, I’ll try to remember next time!
