Nothing ground breaking here but hopefully it might give you a little motivation to get out and see what you can do at your local :)

Will I used to follow my daughter while she was learning her own photography journey .. this was in 2013 .. she then completed her taffe studies in photography in 2014 after completing her diploma. I bought her a Canon 5D mk3 soon after, so my photography journey started soon after that and started in my own back yard here in Perth around our local parks etc . I learned so much from this adventure which in fact pushes your imagination and develops your style exactly as you have just demonstrated . From there I took a serious interest into landscape photography , since that I have had the pleasure and privilege of travelling to so amazing parts of this planet , this is still my hobby and a passion of mine . It has taught me to really open my mind and appreciate nature and wildlife more and more .. you see the world from a place most people never get to see . You have reminded me of how my journey started from just simple back yard photography . There is so much to capture within a few minutes from where most people live .. I encourage anyone to do just what you have done , they will not regret it ! Thanks again for these meaningful discussions ! Stay well ! Greetings from Perth !

Beautiful. It’s all a journey, but we should always remember where it began. Thanks so much ☺️

Thank you William for encouragement, we often think grand events need to happen to capture grand photos but its the opposite amazing beauty is hidden in often in front of our eyes completely oblivious to us. Learned this when i took my camera reluctantly to my local park but was mind blown when i started pointing my camera in random directions to find God's work hidden in plain sight. So blessed. Im from Rotorua. Please keep us updated through your channel. Thanks ❤

Hey Will! Your local park is still WAY better than anything I have around here, where I live! I would say a good photographer takes good photos anywhere, but he still takes the better pictures somewhere, with a more beautiful subject. (And I say this as being one of those photographers, who almost never travel and only shoot what's within a few hours reach of my home) But as much as landscape photography might need travelling or living in a national park, to get outstanding results, people can go into macro photography just anywhere in the world and take some amazing "micro landscapes". I did this a lot with mossy roots, mushroom etc.

Love wandering in local spaces - especially the neighbour's gardens, or the local Botanic gardens. Great for when I don't feel like heading out too far bush. There's always something there.

Hi William, thank you for doing a walk in your local park. I've learnt to look at normal things in a different way, because we all can't go to fantastic places.

I think the most unrelatable part of the video was how well behaved Milo was! Gorgeous boy. My husky would have been at the other side of the park by minute 2, and my sammy would have jumped in the lake the second she saw it. 😅 Really inspiring video. Love all your work, but this one has motivated me the most. I've been in a rut lately lamenting the time it takes to travel to get to any half decent scenery. This was the kick up the butt I needed to remind me that's it's my own skills that need work, not cheating with breathtaking visages all the time.

This is what I do all the time. I love that you did a vlog for this. I take my 18-250mm with me. I am so bad for not checking out a location, I just pick up my camera and go. Sometimes those are the nicest photos :)

Love it! I do most of my shots within walking distance of my house or cabin… I see it as practicing skills, even if none end up as keepers. My dog would not be as patient as Milo though… if I try to take a photo with him on the leash I get CM, whether I want ICM or not! 😂 I use walks to look, observe, think, imagine images

This had me over the moon, William (heart still pumping as I type). Absolutely beautiful, heartwarming vlog. I don't think it's over the top to say every image was stunning. At least, they stunned me. Your creative abilities are amazing and I don't mind the leaf shift at all (it was there, it was real). Thank you, thank you, thank you, lovely man (and lovely doggie).

Neat challenge! I was wondering about who is filming you while you're talking or are you set up on a tripod? What camera and lens are you using for your video?
@WilliamPatinoPhotography Жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot mate. That’s my videographer @cam_snaps … no way you could get these angles using a tripod and walking a dog at the same time 😅 Cam does a great job and it allows me to focus on the teaching, stills and story. We’re using an A74 and 16-35mm for all the video work. Thank you!

This is a really tough question. I live in an amazingly beautiful place and yes I do think it matters in terms of not so much the quality of the image, but just for people to be motivated to go out into it. I live in a stunningly beautiful place called Albany Western Australia. If you google it you will see what I mean. It is a little bit of the UK in Australia. It's cooler it's on the south coast but it has stunning mountains beautiful beaches which is not like the UK by the way. It has beaches like you would see in the tropicsBut it's cooler. It has mountain ranges and forest. It has everything a photographer could work but she still have to make the effort to go out there and shoot it.

You forgot to piss on the leaves at 6:07. Would have added that little bit of extra sauce to the picture. 😂 I guess a downside of shooting in a public park.

Good one ! I have similar problems to the person who requested this video. Do you have someone with you to video you or do you set up a fixed camera at various points and then edit later? Keep shooting. Peter Strazds
@WilliamPatinoPhotography Жыл бұрын
Thank you Pete. I have a videographer/editor for the channel these days, whom I use the majority of the time. I feel stressed thinking about trying to walk a dog, microphone myself up and then using a tripod to stage shots. Solo, this would have been a 2hr affair in the field, instead of 20 mins. Basically I’m investing in the channel to make the best videos we can. So, the support and comments are appreciated.
