Honestly, I think it is the most beautiful place on this planet 🌏 I love the moose, fern, rocks and the waterfalls. I enjoyed going on this adventure with you. Thank you for sharing 😊Is there any possibility you would share the location with us. Or just give us a hint like the name of the river, the region or the next city?

Saving this tutorial to review again and again. I really appreciated the emphasis on local adjustments, something I don't do enough of. It made a big difference in your final edit and I'm convinced. I also had to simply pause the video to enjoy that image at kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5azooeEfbx9hqs . Just spectacular...

This is very reminiscent of the trouble I get into here in British Columbia, chasing waterfalls into steep-sided gorges. Very similar temperate rainforest scenery, too. Hip waders help a ton to get the composition I want.

Very adventurous photo session. You are really pushing the envelope. Thanks for sharing. I had a question though about that shot with the log. Does not it go against all recommendations to avoid any interruptions in the eye flow? That log seems splitting the flow right in the middle.
@WilliamPatinoPhotography2 күн бұрын
Thanks a lot. Yeah it’s not ideal, but I felt it didn’t interrupt the flow greatly because it’s relatively small in the mid ground. Well done for picking that up though.

Wow Will, what a trip, I wish I was 30 yrs younger (I'd still be older than you) to attempt that type of trip. A serious question Will, have you ever considered using a drone to get photos in some of those impossible locations or is it something you frown upon? Exceptional video mate & thanks for sharing. Stay safe & cheers from Oz
@WilliamPatinoPhotography2 күн бұрын
Thanks so much mate. No drones allowed in the national park here. But honestly, I’d feel a disconnect from the subject matter anyways, I want to experience it with all the senses and not look at a drone screen from a carpark. Thanks for your support 🙏🏻
@georgebowden67482 күн бұрын
@@WilliamPatinoPhotography Thanks Will, sorry mate, I didn't explain clearly enough. I wasn't meaning to use the drone from the car park 🤣, I was thinking more in a situation where you could eliminate some of the risks you take to get these epic photos. I fully understand your reasons to stay "in touch" with the surroundings, it was more of a safety thing, we don't want to lose your input mate 👍

I just came across your channel and I'm already a huge fan. Your content is to my liking and I'll definitely going to spend some time going through your videos. This one in particular is fabulous. Thanks for letting us step into your world of landscape photography. That gorge is spectacular and you put a lot of work into making it appear even more so by challenging yourself to get deep into it and finding the most beautiful compositions. The video is high quality and the frames are gorgeous. Congratulations. PS. Question for you. How did you manage long exposure without tripod? Thanks for sharing. Cheers from Canada.
@WilliamPatinoPhotography2 күн бұрын
Thanks so much, really appreciate you supporting the channel and commenting. You will see I don't use a tripod, I've developed a handheld workflow (since 2018) and having a stabilised camera (and some practice with body/hand position) is what helps me achieve this. I find it much more conducive to creativity and connecting the subject matter. Cheers :)
@laszlobacs2 күн бұрын
@WilliamPatinoPhotography I've never thought it was possible doing handheld long exposure but you proved it is. I might give it a try one day. Thanks for the quick response.

Hi Will, I love the message of not putting to much pressure on yourself to get THE SHOT. Immersing yourself in the environment is so much better an idea, I still find it hard to just be able to do that at present when I have my camera. Hopefully that will become easier.
@sebastianmoser31374 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for another great video Will! Just got the 100-400 and want you to ask if it is normal that there is some play in rotational direction on the mount? (maybe about 1 mm). Best wishes from the dolomites
@WilliamPatinoPhotography3 күн бұрын
Thank you! On the tripod mount? I don't use a tripod so I can't really comment on that but I remember many years ago when I used one it was frustrating trying to fine-tune comps with the tele because it would often move slightly once I tightened the head. Is that what you mean?
@sebastianmoser31373 күн бұрын
@WilliamPatinoPhotography thank you Will! No, not on the tripod...i mean i can feel and hear a klick, klick...a small play between the lens-mount on the body and the lens itself when zooming quicker or holding both, the camera and the lens like you are changing the lens...this play in rotational direction i would ask if this is normal. Hope you understand me

Brilliant insight Will. Absolutely love my 24-70 and it is a workhorse, does the job for astro and kills it for live music. I was OS last year and really was kicking myself because I didn't take it. Heading over again next month and won't be making the same mistake.
