Great blade! I have the Winkler made WBD HZO with a nine inch blade, and the HZK with a 4.5 inch blade. Love them both! Will get one of the TRC made ones such as you have.

Confirm that is Elmax stainless Apocalypse? Which steel is laterally stronger, the Elmax or the Tool Steel?

You are correct it's the "apocalypse finish". I believe at this point the tool steels are laterally stronger, but anything with a Rockwell of 58+ I could see being a nominal difference if the world came crashing down into it... Nominally of course.

I am a fan of Williams blade design but they are way overpriced.I got the CRKT HZ6 version for under $120

Its made by TRC… that means high end quality for blades. you cant compare CRKT to TRC, never. Dosnt mean that CRKT is crap but its not that good.

Overpriced is very much subjective. If somebody else will pay the same amount you paid for it 10 years down the line it may not be 'overpriced' as it holds it's value. Not to say the crkt stuff is bad. I have a hissatsu that I really like. But if I was carrying it in the trenches I would opt for a 5.7" Williams blade design.

@@demilitarizedzone True. I think some people do not value knives as much as us, or have other interests. In that case he is right. But I still stand by what I said. I live in Outback Australia and use to complain about spending out on a Personal Locating Beacon (PLB)...when they hit $260AUD I just did. Its like safety glasses, do you value your eyes!? But I also thought I am disrespecting all those who perrished in the past, who did not have this technology and what they would think of me if they could come back and see a PLB!

The CRKT HZ6 is very nice for the money but it's not the equal of the Winkler and TRC made knives.
