I have owned my 450MT since July, I have 2000 miles on it so far, I have fitted a 15 tooth front sprocket which makes the bike cruise easily on motorways, I have the both the low and high seats, I use the low seat when going off road for the day as I love having the complete foot down confidence it brings, and the high seat for touring and I can still get both feet down. The bike feels more like it has 60hp than 42hp, and can easily overtake most things, I came off a Tenere and much prefer the 450MT, the snatchy throttle for me was cured by taking the slack out of the cables, but it is a thing, hopefully a fuelling map will be released. Accessories are really cheap as are spare parts on the Uncle Wang website. I don't think this would be a great 2 up bike as that would asking a lot, but 1 up with luggage is fine. I average 70mpg which gives a range of 270 miles to empty, I can easily do 220 miles before the warning light comes on, I can cruise on motorways at around the limit!!! all day if I needed to, I just try not to if I can help it. The only thing that lets it down are the service intervals, 3000 miles or 12 months, 3000 miles on this bike can be done in no time, I will keep the warranty for the 1st year, but after that if nothing terrible has cropped up on higher mileage bikes I will self service from then on. There is a guy who has done 25000km on his and had no issues at all.

Had mine since August. 1600 miles and loving it. Not bought specifically for off-road (my experience is an instructor guided day in the Peak District on the smaller, lighter well prepped Honda CRF250). This is my smallest capacity bike (others are 690, 900, 750) and IMHO perfectly capable of travelling on with some bags slung across the back, and enough capability to take you off-road (depending on ability and confidence). 15 tooth front sprocket mod knocks about 400 rpm off I hear making it a little less buzzy for higher speeds. Engine is characterful enough that encourages a bit of fun on the throttle, and quite nimble on the road even with the 21" wheel size. Bigger physical size and 195 (ish) wet weight is IMHO an advantage when on the road. Weight feels quite low and on the whole well balanced so you don't feel the weight. You might get fed up if you drop it more than a few times in a day though. :D 173cm height here and the 820mm seat height is about spot on for me to flat foot. Taller/long-legged people - get the rally seat. I could be tempted for more leg room and long distance comfort. About 68mpg, which is neither brilliant or awful, but the 17.5l tank gives me plenty of range. When you're used to only 110-150 miles from a full tank, 250+ miles range is a new experience. :) Not for everyone, I get that (what is?). Personally, I'm getting plenty of smiles out of this bike already. Sales figures and lack of available bikes indicates this model has an audience,.and I'm always getting approached and interrogated by genuinely interested people about this bike where ever I go. :D

In Australia, there is a place doing a remap of the ECU to fix the throttle and gain a little more power. I have heard that there is an update, which you download via your phone that may address this issue. You can buy a better bashplate from CFMoto, or an aftermarket one. Don't forget you can get the high front guard and a bigger windscreen if required. There are people that swap out the front sprocket for a 15T for the highway. The benefit for the whingers that say the 195kg weight is close to the Tenere, so why would you buy this? The simple answer is that you are not lifting the bike off the ground, you're only standing it up. The Tenere is top heavy, where the weight of this bike is lower, so is a lot easier to stand up.
@MalHanson2 ай бұрын
The over the air (OTA) update from CFMoto does fix the snatchy throttle. I did the update a couple of weeks ago, and it transformed the bike in the slower more technical rides. I've done over 6,000kms on mine, and it is my unicorn bike!

The 450 is still pretty top heavy but the weight issue is also annoying because the weight on their website isn't the actual wet weight...so it weighs even more when you actually need to tip it up. It still isn't that bad as long as you don't have god awful knees or bad lifting technique.

So, I believe this bikes weight roughly the same fully fuelled. However, don't forget that 800X has 1.5-2.5 liters bigger fuel tank than 450MT. Therefore, 800X is supposed to be very slightly lighter than 450MT if you put the same amount of fuel in them. But that's not certain.

Then you'll have a different appreciation of how much power you really need on the road most of the time. 😆 Back in the day Triumph 650's were only about 45hp and they were considered to be very powerful. NOTE:- Where I live the base T7 is $20,300, CRF300 Rally $11,995 and 450MT is $9990, so there's a huge degree of room for the forgiveness of a few quirks. However, having tracked one of these, I would like to see them release a "touring" version with 19/17 wheel combo and dual front brakes (its still a 200kg bike), perhaps from the bigger 800MT. Unfortunately i dont do enough hardcore off road to appreciate the 21/18 wheel combo and the smaller wheels will certanly put it more on the nose to dial out the front end vaugeness along with a larger front sprocket and thicker, more comfortable seat. The true value of this bike is to wake up the big brands. Despite all the hoo-hah sales of premium high end bikes are declining as most richer bikers age and trade down or give up riding, and the only real growth sector is the more affordable 500cc and below. It might be a real big market proposition once CF Moto’s operation and support network catches up with their products, but BMW, Ducati, KTM (although they have CF produce their 790s), Triumph and the big 4 Japanese need to wake up. Their smaller offerings are so-so but I have no interest in a vibey single. The nearest spec competitor is the NX500 - not an off-roader but not much more and good enough for most owners, with that long history of quality and reliability. I also wonder whether the noisy pre reveal at a nice price softens up the market and a sneaky price increase for 2025 will be the “actual” price once the bikes are available, at least in the UK, which is probably a small market for CF moto anyway.

Thanks Bob - the stock seat wouldn’t really work for me so good to know the Rally seat. Also the 270 crank on that little twin is brilliant. The Chinese learned well from manufacturing for the Germans and then slap an impossible price on it. Just not sure about sending more money to lifetime premier Xi, but I’ve ridden GS tours in China they love ADV and nature as much as we do!!

Brother, you bring up about power on everything. It's always one of your gripes on smaller bikes but it's a nearly perfectly distributed power band here for what it's being advertised as imo.

Honestly i would never buy one of these (i have really bad experiences with chinese brand Motorcycles, Cars and Scooters) but hopefully this Bike shows the European and Japanese Brands how easy it is to solve a lot of "customer problems". The ABS-Switch is brilliant (look at you, Yamaha Tenere 700 and your stupid "Oh this Button just turns your ABS back on, if you want to disable it you have to stop and get into 300 Submenues and as soon as you turn off the bike you have to do it all again"-ABS-Settings), Apple Car Play in such a "cheap" bike is simpy unheard of and the whole setup with the quircky 450 Engine is just brilliant

Add on the GPS/alarm that comes with the bike and OTA software/remaping from your phone with no need to go to a dealer... About quality vs competition... European manufacturers are loosing sales in China (And Europe) due to quality match now from (some selected) chinese products (the vast majority is still trash). Also note that they are betting their name (30 years making mules for offroad) and not using a "refurbished" ole motorcycle brand. These guys are here to stay. The only thing/issue will be the resale value... for that to even out, this low quality stigma has to end first.

its not lighter, its just cheaper. not bad to have 45hp bike for 5500 euros but for 2025 they made it 6000 euros... and bad resale value. at that point just add 1-1,5k extra and buy japanese i think

Would love to see how it felt on the highway. I'm looking at some small and lighter adventure bikes. I test road the Himalayan 450 and it was a bit viby between 5-6000 RPM's. Otherwise everything about that bike was great. I'm worried how fatiguing that vibration might be. This 450 might be better for longer highway rides.

Buying the bike is only the start of the story… spares availability, service intervals and dealership support are what makes ownership a breeze or a pain. As an early adopter of a brand that had few (at that point) spares stocks and even fewer dealers in the UK, a cheap RRP can lead you down an unpleasant road. 😂

You forgot to mention that the Ibex450 / MT450 is 17L of high octane fuel every fill up! That's how it gets those HP and torque numbers. One more reason why it's not particularly well suited for touring.
@jutjub222 ай бұрын
what do you mean, which, it takes 95 RON octane, like all the other motorcycles?
@andywright51472 ай бұрын
I own 4 motorcycle and none need premium fuel so your "All other motorcycles" logic is deeply flawed. If someone wanted to go around the world at least half of the gas stations wouldn't have the proper fuel for the bike. I've taken my CB500X which is designed for regular fuel to hundreds of stations that only have regular fuel available.
@jutjub222 ай бұрын
@@andywright5147 95 RON octane is specified for this engine, same like all other motorcycles, that is regular fuel. Same goes for CB500X, 95 octane is minimum. In Europe there is no fuel below 95 RON octane level. That is minimum you can buy at gas stations. What region are you from, may be something specific to that market.
@andywright51472 ай бұрын
@@jutjub22 Regular fuel is 87 Octane, Mid grade is 89 and Premium fuel is 91 octane. The IBEX450 needs premium fuel which is 91 octane.
@andywright51472 ай бұрын
CB500X and most motorcycles are designed for 87 Octane Fuel (91 RON) because that's the fuel most of the world uses. The exception is high performance engines like super sport bikes. Europe might only have premium 91 (95 RON) but most of the rest of the world only has this gas available in city's. In South America octane is sometimes even lower at 85 like in Bolivia. This motorcycle would run absolutely terrible at that low of octane.

@MOTOBOB As a 23' KTM 390Adv owner already I have a 450MT on order as want a more green lane friendly bike. The 390Adv needs quite a few mods to do off-road IMO, & even then it's slighlty compromised by wheel sizes. Don't get me wrong it's a good road bike with Adv styling for our crappy A/B-roads in the UK but too revvy for me off tarmac. Will I keep both...dunno yet🤔

More confortable (fully adjustable suspension), more electronics/usability, "half" the price, and all the rest goes downhill from there. BUt again... a T7 has 300 cc more, so you shouldn't compare them.

I think the main selling point is the shorter seat height which was always the cuplrit of the bigger adv bikes. The 450MT is cearly made for the lighter, shorter riders below 5 ft 9(180cm). Also the center of gravity is lower making it easier to maneuver in slow speed compared to top heavy bikes like t7. Im really excited about the new KTM 390 Adventure next year.
