@@yahyageorgiadis Italy has one less Eurocup than Spain, which sums up to 2, and the first one was in 1968. You ask any italian that knows about football, he'll tell you Spain IS the rival to beat (I think it's considered sort of a Mediterranean Classico). Hell even Germany tried for years to imitate the spanish model with no success. And that's another country with multiple trophies. Spain is another top dog in Europe, accept it or not that's up to you.

The point that the Italian supporter is making is very true: This is not statistics, this is football. In a world in which this game is played 10 times, 9 out of 10 Spain decimates Italy, probably with a 10-0. But there is 1 game in which Spain does not get even the OG and Italy scores the scrappiest goal ever, and they win. At the end of the match, we do not check xG, we check the scoreline. I think that nobody, not even him, are discussing that Spain beat down Italy like they were playing Lichtenstein, but Italy is not Lichtenstein because Italy always has a way to "rob" (i don't mean it negatively) a losing game.

And as a Spanish supporter I can tell you that although I was calmer than in other games in the past, I was like "come on guys, 2-0 at least. This is too fucking close" until the end of the game. This was a massacre, and with any other GK and with a few cm to the left or right in some wood hits, it would have been 6-0. The xG showed that by the end of the match we were closer to 2-0 than to 1-1 (2.2 vs 0.16)

What system? This Spain does not play possession football or Barça tiki taka. This Spain is the most vertical in style of play that I can remember. It reminds me a little of Real Madrid, Nico Williams plays like Vinicius Jr, Yamal like Rodrigo or Carvajal, they play by pressing in defense and playing on the wings on offense or in counterattacks. Due to skills, many could play like Yamal but Yamal's advantage is that he has a lot of resistance and stamina since he is very young, nothing more.

@beniyashasama8327 nope I never mentioned that. my point is Spain judged yamal to be the best player for what they wanna play irrespective of age England's stupid manager is truing to wedge players out of position and holding back our talented youth. we have two great young players in Wharton and mainoo (ball players) that he refused to play because they're 18-19... even tho we have no other players of that type in the midfield areas

@@vkdeen7570 I know, I have seen most of the games so far and I realized that the England coach is being too conservative, both from a tactical point of view and in terms of giving opportunities to promising young players. My Spain has never had a serious problem in that sense, players like Pedri, Gavi, Yamal, Nico Williams are examples of generational replacement, also the commitment to talent that is not so young but with experience like Dani Olmo, Robin Le Normand, Rodrigo among others. My only complaint about my national team is that they did not choose Brahim Díaz for the team. He is like an unstoppable machine with great dribbling ability and great effectiveness in front of goal. I don't understand the decision to leave him out.

I don't get why everyone is saying Spain dominated Italy. They had great attacking but Italy had fantastic defending just got unlucky with that own goal. Like Italy never really go on the attack so this was a pretty even matchup for me it could have easily ended in a draw.
