I met Jim Kelly at Comic-con over ten years ago. He was very friendly and nice to talk to. I told him that he could have beaten Han in Enter the Dragon if it weren't for those birds. He laughed. He allowed me to take numerous photos with him at no charge. He was a nice person. May he RIP

Then once the pigeon broke loose and distracted Williams, Han capitalized on that opening and it was all over from there. Han pretty much met his match later with Bruce Lee, though. If you notice, Han does not begin to beat Williams skull in in the exact spot he fell. Meaning for the scene to work, Williams was dragging his body on the ground because he could no longer get up. Makes the scene more disturbing when you think about it like that.

Always wondered why Mr. Hahn was able to beat Kelly so easily and then I found out John Saxon's character was supposed to die but being that he was a much bigger name at the time than Jim Kelly his agent was able to get the script changed. And Roper was a terrible martial artist.

I can’t believe Shih Kien/Mr Han learned all his lines phonetically. He says everything with the right tone and inflections for his villainous character. He could of spoken very flatly like a robot. Jim Kelly is just too cool for school. If Bruce Lee was still alive I would have loved to have seen them do another movie together.

Bruce Lee, Jim Kelly, John Saxon, Shie Kien, Bob Wall, Ahna Capri are all gone....😞 Bolo Yeung, Angela Mao and Betty Chung are still here. Do you know the story of Bolo Yeung ? When he was young and already athletic, he wanted to get away from China, and escape famine, so he swam (4 km) across Dapeng Bay to reach Hong Kong and live a new life. From this feat, I think this actor are immortal ! who agrees with this ?

Man you come right out of a comic book. I was in high school when "Enter The Dragon " came out. A teacher that I didn't like & he didn't like me said something strange to me. I said those words that Jim Kelly said and that teacher just looked at me strangely. He didn't have a clue what I was saying & I liked the saying from Williams. It's sad how Williams was killed at least he went down fighting. Williams was also cool Cos he didn't revealed to Han who else was outside during the night. That's what's called being a Man he didn't back down.
@phillyphilhouse794 жыл бұрын
Wasnt just the pigeon and Mr Hans iron hand. It was William's attitude problem and arrogance that got him killed.

You're exactly right, Williams wasn't taking the fight seriously at first, and by the time He began to perceive Han as a genuine threat, it was too little too late

Note: This Bird Cage score from Enter the Dragon later used in Mariah Carey's music video, Heartbreaker where they got a fight between Mariah and Bianca in Comfort room. Additionally, the fight sequence from Mariah Carey's Heartbreaker music video was choreographed by Jackie Chan (who also starred as a henchmen in Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon).

Jim Kelly was a great martial artist but, i mean, they played characters in the movie and Saxon's/Kelly's characters were both supposed to be good fighters. You should not compare to real life. Kelly was indeed a better martial artist, that doesn't mean his character can't lose a fight. He wasn't really portraying himself.. It never bothered me that much that they changed the script. Williams's death was very emotional and brutal. I was a bit sad to see him go but it was a very good scene. I also liked that Roper in the end couldn't be persuaded by Han to join his organization, finding out his friend was dead. It showed he had moral and was still a good guy. In that way i liked his team up with Bruce.
@杉村敏子7 жыл бұрын
Williams was better. Period.
@dt1111able6 жыл бұрын
It doesn't make Roper a good guy, I mean who wouldn't have stood by his friend? Roper knew Han's organisation was about drugs, prostitution, slavery and imprisonment. He would have joined if William's hadn't been killed - up until he saw Williams strung up, he had been persuaded.

I love Bruce Lee and this movie! But I feel like they should have made it to where he can survive! The only reason they killed Williams off I feel is to appeal to Europeans like Asians always do! Then and now it is no different! Asians tent to play more towards Europeans than any other race outside of their own! And I will never quite understand that considering all the bad things Europeans have done throughout American history! Maybe all the Asian cultures don't know any better because they believe the lies that America tells about bad Europeans doing good things like Christopher Columbus for instance!
