My dad used to take me to the Texas theater in Dallas when I was a kid back in the 70s. Oh, yes THAT Texas theater....where Lee Harvey Oswald was found hiding out on that fateful day in November in 1963. Anyway, this theater would always play these generic kung fu movies and we loved them all, but when it was a Bruce Lee movie, it was something special. This of course, being my favorite that we saw there. Still my fave to this day. My dad died a few years ago, and sometimes I pass that theater and remember all those years ago. It seems like a hundred years ago now.

My favorite film, period... here are a couple of tidbits you may not know... The film was made with NO sound... Shih Kein who played Han, did not speak english; he was told how to mouth certain parts of the dialog, then it was recorded (Dubbed) in post production. There were several characters with bit parts in this movie that were major characters in Bruce's other films... The fight scene with Bob Wall; if you look right before the final blow is delivered, Bruce's right hand is covered because he was cut for real with one of the bottles during rehearsal. he was also bitten by the snake in another scene. Bruce was supposed to fight Bolo in the film, but John Saxsons people made his having more screen time a condition of his being in the film, and Jim Kelly was supposed to live in the movie, but because this was his first film, John Saxon's team again had influence there... Jim Kelly was not the original actor, but the previous actor didnt want to go overseas for this project... crazy, right?
@richardpierre7533 Жыл бұрын
Almost right.......Rockne Tarkington, who was the original choice for Williams made a fatal mistake by asking for more money 3 days before production. Also this was NOT Jim Kelly's first movie. He had a part in Melinda starring Calvin Lockhart.
