LOST IN OLD MEXICAN VILLAGES SEARCHING FOR WATERFALL (YELAPA, JALISCO)

We had recently come to the town of Yelapa in the state of Jalisco and the west side of Mexico. We had taken a panga (water taxi) over there from the big town of Puerto Vallarta located just 30 min away. It had been really cool to see the old village and the horses on the streets. We were going to hike for several hours through the villages but got lost along the way.
In the past weeks I have made videos from areas around Puerto Vallarta, such as Sayulita, Nueveo Vallarta, Cruz de Huanacaxtle, and will be going to more places in this area soon. Also dont forget to check out my other videos form my travels along the East coast of Mexico where I went to Cancun, isla Mujeres, Cozumel, Bacalar, Playa Del Carmen, Akumal. Hey William I'm a 53 year old woman in Canada watching your videos remembering when I was your age traveling in Asia. Many adventures similar to yours, getting lost, not bringing enough water, getting fried... and wishing I too had grown up in a small community where people stayed together. Alas, now I'm living a beautiful North American dream lifestyle, overlooking the waters here in Vancouver. Alas, through your videos I'm reminded of not only adventure, but what's important. I like your observation of the local lifestyle. It is what I appreciate about the Spanish culture as well. The fact that they are very close in their family units. Grandparents are revered and all down the line everyone gets attention. As you said, a great way to grow up. But.....I may be biased, as I am an old guy and they extend the same courtesy to me :)

Imagine what Yelapa was like in 1986 when I went there as a teenager. We rode horses up to the waterfall had NOM NOM on the way in one of the villages. I remember the water was COLD but so refreshing. Wonderful video! I can’t wait to go back to Yelapa. Really the only difference was no ATV’s then. Just horses. Love to Maria!

Taking a break from watching all your previous videos over the past weeks from the U.S., Greece, Australia, Fiji, Japan, Thailand .... to watch this one which was really good and not just because of Maria, although she sure doesn't hurt, not at all. You've got it going, man. Don't sweat the 100K subscribers thing, that will happen. You've got a devoted, growing fan base, and I've noticed many people making recent comments on your older videos which is definitely a good sign. Just keep doing what you're doing and also the way you've done it in the past - I liked the way you showed the top 6 or whatever coolest things to do on a certain island, for example - maybe you could do a ranking or a 'Top 20' of all the places you visited in Mexico after you've finished traveling there. If you want to rehydrate, any bar or place where they prepare drinks you can order a "rusa de tehuacan" basically it is carbonated water with the mexican lemon (little green one) and half a teaspoon of salt really enjoyable.

What an adventure! Maria was a real "trooper!" She showed a lot more patience than many of the women I have gone on hikes with. I can't tell you how many times I have heard, "This is another fine death march you talked me into..." I never heard of Yelapa and it does seem to have that unique feeling of true isolation. I also sometimes feel that I was born in the wrong place and culture. That feeling has inspired me to do a few nutty things. I remember the first time I visited Hawaii and was so moved by the experience that I tried to learn the Hawaiian language. That effort lasted about three months!
