Thanks for promoting my country, very nice video. Some history, the Romana town is known for one of the top Caribbean resorts “Casa de Campo” but everything started with big sugar cane fields and a sugar cane mill, located at you right hand on the way to Catalina. In the past farmers brought the sugar cane to be be weighted there, there were a big scale branded “Romana” so the name stick.

I love hearing you might return to Mexico... I love that country and the many many unusual activities... Like the Mummy Museum, and So many ancient cultural ruins! Does it seem like there are more archeological sites than just about any other country? I read that Mexico has the most Museums of any country per capita and that most of them are pretty amazing! I would love to see you get permissions to show us more inside some of those places... Looking forward to your next video!

William, I agree that constant traveling is extremely exhausting after a while and so it's good to put down roots some place for at least a few months and find a couple of good people to hang out with. Otherwise yes, it can be quite lonely. I am going through that myself right now and trying to figure out where to put down some shallow roots, so to speak. Going back to Mexico seems to me to be a good idea. I'm there right now and love the beach communities. The challenge is finding exactly the right place, but I'm sure you will since you've been to many different places there. So, best of luck William. Also, you're almost at your goal of 100,000 subscribers - only 15,000 to go! I predict you will get there by the end of this year. I'm rooting for you. ❤️

If you go to Puerto Plata, I would recommend to visit La Ensenada Beach. If you dare to go a little further northwest, go to MonteCristi and it would provide a more relaxing experience. If you are really looking for a real island experience and get to know the people there, then visit the inland provinces. The culture there is so rich, the food is even better, not to mention the natural beauty of its mountains, rivers and waterfalls.

How much does a modern 1 bedroom apartment cost per month there? In a safe apartment complex with a pool and gym
@expathomesharemexico2 жыл бұрын
@@williamtaudien Sorry, I just noticed your message William. I just text a lady I met recently that was supposed to have moved into a nice building with a pool in a gated building and asked her the price as I know she was moving into a one bedroom there. I also have asked her about a gym. I'll get back to you once she replies to me. Prices in San Miguel de Allende can vary wildly but bargains can be had. My husband and I and our 3 dogs moved into a really cute upper story duplex (fully furnished) two bedroom very rustic with loads of storage 5 minutes to the centre of town for only $500 USD a month including high speed internet and all utilities which is a steal. I am guessing you are looking at a minimum of $750 USD-$1000 USD a month for what you are wanting though. Will let you know what my acquaintance says when she gets back to me.

@@williamtaudien Hi William. This girl got back to me and said she is renting a fully furnished one bedroom apartment with all utilities included for $13,100 pesos a month which is about $676 USD; this is better than I thought it might be. She said her apartment is slightly older rather than modern (but I think it would be nice) and that the building has a gym and when I asked her the size of the pool she said it was large. She is on a short 2 month lease but has to give one month's notice so it says 3 months - but of course as she mentioned, every apartment in the building would be different. The climate here is bizarre - but in a good way. Even now, it can get very hot for a few hours in the afternoon where I had been thinking I'd love to jump into a heated pool (I used to swim for an hour a day in Acapulco). But it gets cold at night and in the morning. I tried to find the place online and couldn't so I sent her another message asking her to text me the url and/or phone number. What I will do is when she gets back to me tomorrow, I will send an email to your gmail address from my 'mex homeshare' gmail address - to maintain your privacy - in case you did end up there. It's in a good area too - near shops, cafes and restaurants and close to town. Will touch base 'mañana' - Marianne

About a month after your visit to Catalina we took a sailboat cruise there. The cruise was great, they had a couple of georgeous Dominican girls dancing and getting the toursists moving. The island was fun, but I too was getting "annoyed at a few things". I was tipping anyway, but the bartenders basically would refuse to pour you a drink unless you did. Next time I'll take a bottle of rum and give them the finger, lol. But yeah, solo travel can sometimes be a little lonely.

The best part of your video's is you!!! #1 snorkeling #2 visiting seaside towns #3 exploring new things #4. A small sailboat I think you could operate it by yourself. I wonder if in your next videos you could talk a bit about the difference among the warm-climate countries (Greece vs. Mexico vs. the Caribbean etc), in terms of were you felt most comfortable, which place has the best quality of life for the price, the kindness of people, and last but not least, what place is still "western" enough for a typical European to not feel totally displaced. You know what I mean. :=))
@alinafakin3702 жыл бұрын
@UCAd5GFBinCLtKK1QKWVQGGg Thanks for your input. I did not mean "western" in terms of clubbing all-nighters, loud American music and burgers :=)), but just so that the culture shock is not too great. I love a multi-culti environment and learning about new cultures, but I could not eat cats all the time, if you know what I mean... China would be a place I probably would not feel comfortable in (though I cannot be sure as I've never visited). Mexico does sound interesting, but perhaps something a bit less touristy than Cancun?
