Jase was wary when Willie offered to pay him NOT to show up to Duck Commander, but he's feeling pretty good about it now. Phil, Jase, and Al share what they do with their old Bibles. Jase explains why he liked the recently canceled "Messiah" series, and the guys offer a few spoiler-free movie recommendations. A newly baptized "Unashamed" listener has an inspiring take on the tough times the coronavirus has caused for his restaurant chain, Hwy 55.

My grandpa always told me growing up, never trust preacher with brand new Bible. I never understood it, until my husband and I started attending our little country church. Our pastor is a friend of ours, and is a cattle farmer. We walked in the first day, and the spine of his Bible is all duct tape. Then I got it. He's constantly in his Bible, which means he's constantly studying Jesus. He still uses the same Bible, and I smile every time I see him raise it up from the pulpit.

Ashley Brewer my mom said to make sure a pastor walks up to the pedestal to start the sermon that their bible is in their hand. She doesn’t like to see a tablet or iPad in hand, maybe it’s because of what you said.

I had asked a question awhile back about dealing with difficult family relationships. I am aware that a lot of questions come in but I am looking forward to mine being asked because I really want to hear the advice that Phil would give in such a situation. His wisdom and advice is clear and easy to understand. I also appreciate that Phil doesn't share the gospel as someone who has never struggled with anything. He is the first to admit that there was a time that he didn't know God and is willing to share his own experiences to help others.

I’m laughing literally OUT LOUD cuz my husband and I had our very private wedding ( him n I n one witness and the preacher and his new puppy -that had never seen a river FYI). It was Sept. in Washington state...🥶 and on the Kalama River. My husband wanted baptized at the same time (I was not going to marry a non-Christian) so we had the ceremony and as I said “I Do”...the puppy thought he could walk on water 🤣 and found out HE COULDN’T! 😂it was classic! I got it on vid! So my now husband after the “you may kiss the bride” ...gets baptized and (oh geez I’ve been listening to y’all too much and have lost my ability to tell a short story! Giggles 🤭) he tells the preacher that he is to be help under the water for a full count of 5! The preacher says “well Jordan, I know you have lives a pretty sinful life up until now but it really doesn’t matter how long I hold you under the water it is just the act of being dunked under and the water washing your sins away (Jesus’ Blood) not the length of time under” 😂 ! So once he felt the water and how cold it was he kinda back peddled as to how long he wanted to be under! So anyways... (Jase I’m blaming you for the length of this lol) as he is dunked his feet fly up out of the water and stay up until the count of five is complete!!! It was hilarious!!! Praise The Lord! It was an awesome day! Thank you for your podcast and for sparking that funny memory!!! We are fixin to have our first anniversary this year (after living in sin for the first 8yrs of our relationship!) Glory to God for new beginnings through Jesus and sending us The Holy Spirit!!! Love ya! Be blessed!!!

Yes, being humble is a huge thing to overcome in youth but as a young man now in my mid thirties its a huge advantage being humble, in the sense of being thoughtful, more forgiving and understanding, having more patience, really really thinking things through and not having extreme reaction to events and interactions in life. As an in recovery opiod addict clean for 5 years im clear headed enough to know that riding a mower through town with a weedeater on the side of it, and a backpack leaf blower on my knee while i travel to get yards done has humbled me alot. This is my third year of doing that and im ready to get a trailer finally and already have my old truck fixed, im just appreciative and happy to be able to support myself again and not be a burden to others. LOVE THY NEIGHBOR!!!

I love Unashamed.....and the Robertson family. I can watch it all day. I just watched episode 70 and it made me laugh. My husband and I are waterfowlers. We just got a lab and had it go through some training for hunting. Well....the comment Jase made about being tough to get rid of old Bible made me smile because of what happened to me. I have had a bible for years that I value because of its use...markings showing use. :) One Sunday morning, I went for a walk before church. When I got home, my husband was showering and not watching the 6 month year old puppy. I caught him in my room eating up my precious bible! I was hysterical! To make a long story short....I had to leave the town for the night and get away from husband and dog. I was so mad that he didn't watch the dog better and couldn't cope. I went to hotel, watched football, ate chocolate, cried.......and called husband later that night. I LOVED that bible.

I had a Bible show up here at the house exactly one year ago. I had been saved about a month before it arrived. Needless to say it has my name on the lower right corner. Clifton Brown it's says, but the beautiful thing it has a Duck Commander logo on it an has the most soft green leather top half an wood grain lower. It's magic, i can not put it down. I sleep with it beside me an carry it off with me when I wake. Also got the Robertson faimly devotional. I asked everyone I know if they sent it an nobody knows how it just showed up at my door. I have yet to be baptized, like Phil I have hid out in the year since becoming a Christian as well. An it would be an honor to have Phil baptize me in winter in the river. Amen

My Mom went to Hati with her church group. She taught school and Sunday School for 2 yrs, she saw things she never wanted to see again. They did raise people from the dead. She said it was so scary, those that were raised were nothing more then zombie like people. The ones that are not Christians over there are really into some bad stuff. I had this horrible dream that I was told and knew I had to get ahold of her the next morning, well the reception is so bad overthere that she would have to go on a roof just to talk to me. Thank God I got ahold of her the next morning to warm her what I saw in my dream. Within a few hours of me telling her that there was a horrible spiritual war. The city was pretty much demolished, her good friend and church member was shot right in front of her. I am so proud of her and give her so much credit for going over there to spread the word of God knowing she could have been killed at anytime. The church members could only go into town during the day with someone local. If they went out at night and by themselves they would have been killed. Those people would watch for them to come out. Mom has always been an amazing woman and strong Christian and said she could see the Devil at work in so many ways.

I have been divorced for almost 25 years and not by choice, either. My ex-wife's Mom and Sister caused a major division. It was bad enough that my ex-wife chose to work nights the five years we were together. So, now everything I own is in storage, including my Dad's and Grandfather's Bibles. I have yet to have a home of my own. Since, I paid Child support for 22 years. Now, I am trying to pay off my loans and when I do, it will free up my income. I finally retired, but I have still not owned a home or an apartment, I can't afford, anyway. I have invested in a small lot and bought a truck and camper, but the camper is getting old fast. I am partially disabled to, but still work part-time to supplement my income. I trust God and continue to go forward to gain the promises Jesus has prepared for me. I will not give up!!... I like that story about BIG FOOT, LOL!!

I didn't know Jesus was alone in his final days and hours and that his men ran off. That really hit me to the core and made me feel a deep sorrow and shame for humanity. I'd like to think I'd have died before leaving. Near the end of the show when you talked about god seeing us a friend and worthy of his love that really struck me. We are so undeserving such petty vile animals at times this world of corruption not a near perfect soul walks this earth yet God almighty himself has the time for us. We are not worthy and yet God accepts and forgives in spite of our endless flaws. That's very powerful! I never thought of God seeing me in that way I always just think of how I see him.

CS Lewis put it pretty well: “I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic - on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg - or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.”

I loved the show, but I love the podcast even better. I was a huge fan of Jase during Duck Dynasty. I read his book, but now it’s like you get to know how he thinks and his perspective on things.

Jase , I’m surprised you have Netflix . I canceled my subscription when they aired “The First Temptation of Christ” , portraying our Lord as a homosexual. As soon as I heard about it I cut that cable. But to each his own. But I can’t , I WON’T , support anything that would disgrace Jesus Christ . That’s not something I take likely.

Laura Jones, be in the world but not OF THE WORLD. God uses flawed human to do his work in the sinful world. Moses, David, Paul(Saul).
