From what i understand the reason sora, donald and goofy change their appearance is to keep the world order and not reveal the other worlds so due to donalds magic they change their looks. Since vanitas doesnt care about the worlds (or any of the xehanorts) they wouldnt need to do this. other than that tho i think it would be a dark fur vanitas lmao

So passing It as a curse would make it a very viable option. Thing is since everyone in that world is already crazy they don't question it much luckily

To be fair, I think this is an issue where this is the first time Haley Joel Osment had to voice both characters in the same scenes, since in ReMind his Vanitas voice sounds a little more natural. I've noticed sometimes voice actors who are playing both a good character and evil character in the same scene will play up the evil character's voice a bit more than they need to. A similar thing happened with Johnny Young Bosch reprising his roles as Yu Narukami and Tohru Adachi from Persona 4 in BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, his Adachi voice sounded way more exaggerated than it did in the original game.
