Does the material feel tough.... like actual "rubber?" I'm thinking about buying one right now! ✌️👍
@adamzhu23132 жыл бұрын
@@scottshepard3662 Hi man, I am not sure about "rubber" because I've seen too many kinds of rubber, let me describe my experience on it for you, the surface material feel like an extra thick, fine tarp. I've accidentally dragged it above some under water sharp stone (with no load), it didn't leave a single scratch. With the recommended air pressure, the bottom almost feel like a hard shell for anybody smaller than 150 lbs, but you for somebody over 200 lbs, the butt spot still sinks a little. I haven't had any real puncture yet. The handling is not that good due to the shape, the fin on the bottom helps a little, but still not as good as hard-shell ones. It totally worth the price, if you get a good deal, it would be fantastic. There is another useful video compares all popular inflatables, you can look it up.

I have ordered one of these for moose hunting season. One spot I hunt is a small, isolated lake. I walk in about 1km from a gravel road. The opposite side backs on to many thousands of wilderness, muskeg, which is not easily accessed without crossing the narrow spit of the lake & walking around to the other side is a huge task. I recovered my moose last year using my Argo 8x8 & vloaging it across, but I want to be able cross quietly to scout, track & pursue as necessary. Th8s os my plan...

@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures the issue with the trolling theory is that two lines will be right next to each other and probably cross/tangle. Also, if you get a fish on the line, one rod will bend into the other and could bend the eye guides of the rods.

Maybe the pole holders face that way so that the rods aren’t hanging out of the boat snagging trees and such while traveling down river.

It is nice and quite sturdy. I had one for a few years with some patches already. The only thing I don’t like is the fishing rod holders that make the rods crossing. To solve this issue (to make the rod direction toward outside and not crossing), today I discover that 3/4” PVC connectors can make it. Just need a pair of bending 135 degree angle connector and a pair of straight connector. Combine each bending connector with each straight one using 3/4” PVC pipe. Also use the same PVC size to connect with the rod host on Kayak. Cut a little inner tube of bicycle tire waste to layer the pipe until it’s good fit to the host.

A quick word of advise, the hand operated two way air pump that was provided with your INTEX Excursion kayak is also an "air-extractor", and it works great. The air-extractor method will deflate the kayak to the same state it was in when you first took it out of the box. It works a lot like one of those vacuum packaging devices for food storage.

Great question this one got stolen out my trunk around 20-25 uses, the sea eagle & AE have both held out for over 20 uses with no pops but I'm mostly using my dinghy now. Also making a video on choosing a kayak vs dinghy soon so look for that maybe next week. One thing I can say is don't be afraid of a pop these are actually safer than a lot of hard shell boats that will sink if tipped. Patching up a hole is easy & you will never need to re patch it, I see way to many people get a hole or find one after unpacking & toss out a perfectly good boat. Hope that helps, they are all great boats for the price I'd go with a Sea Eagle, these Intex boats can swing from $350-500 in a snap!

How well does it hold against scratches, like if you hit a rock or when you come back in at the dock and skid on the edge of the lake?
@LightsOut2765 жыл бұрын
Also, would you say this kayak is as good for rivers and lakes or lakes only?
@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures5 жыл бұрын
I would say light, light rivers & lakes. Scratches so far so good but after 9 uses you can see some wear & tear, not much but it's there.

The chambers are numbered. Always do the bottom first. Then the sides.

Thanks for the video and review. Is there a skeg? I would be concerned about even tracking without one.
@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures4 жыл бұрын
yes two of them, one for rivers but I wouldn't take it on a river.

I seen the statement about not taking in the river . I mainly live around rivers & lakes . So you wouldn't recommend using it on the river ? @@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures

Wow! What a great review.Cover everything really well. I'm very tempted to get one.. I have the Explorer and that is good but this looks like class.

Any tips for getting the skeg unstuck on the explorer?? I can't seem to get it out on and Ive tried it all.

I took mine out for the first time yesterday and loved it! I have a question about the psi though, and I can't find that information. What psi do you blow each one up to? I want to make sure I am not doing too much. Thanks in advance!!

Good review, but you missed out the fact that you can use the pump to pump the air out as well. That way you can remove pretty much all of the air easily and therefore fold it up smaller (and get it back in the bag)! Any idea why we in the UK have to pay almost double what you pay for this in the U.S.?
@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures4 жыл бұрын
Prices after Covid doubled on most if not all Intex products prolly why. Last Christmas this was as low as $130.
@scottytrotter4 жыл бұрын
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures Wow! That's literally a quarter of the best price I can find for one in the UK!

Nice kayak. I have a similar one and they are a good option when you don’t have The space. Enjoy and thanks for sharing

I think you use the pump to deflate it completely. The Velcro strip seems to be versatile and long for positioning. Can I attach the skeg while on the water, reaching underneath?
@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures5 жыл бұрын
Your 100% correct, I just got back from my third use of it & it for sure will take it down even more fitting it into the bag very well.
@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures5 жыл бұрын
Sorry missed your question, the skeg I forgot to film. It comes with x2 of them one for shallow & one for lakes. The skeg slides in & locks, to get it off you press on a tab. You won't be able to reach over though the sides are a lot bigger than a hard shell kayak. That being said the thing is attached very very firmly, to break this off you would have to really be trying.

How rugged material is, will it stand hits and sctarches in shallow river?
@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures4 жыл бұрын
Nah man it want's a nice gentle river where it won't be getting hit by rocks, really IMO need to move up to the $600-1200 range for river stuff

Would these work in Florida gulf coast surf? It is fairly calm but not sure if it would sink if filled with some water.
@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures4 жыл бұрын
Don't see why not

I would assume that the rod holders are designed to cross to minimize how far the rods stick out to the side, in order to avoid snagging on tree branches or a dock or other potential bugaboos.

Nice review. Have been looking at this on Amazon. This helped me make up my mind. Plan on using it on some river trips on the Guadalupe, in Texas Hill Country with my wife. Don't think I would want to fish out of it.
@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures5 жыл бұрын
Dude you will love it, also fishing out of it has been excellent but I don't have anything to compare it to. If you can please use my amazon link. Cheers for stopping by Justin

Are these 2 way valves? We're having trouble checking the air pressure because we lose all the air while transitioning to pressure guage.

Only issue has become that the company does not have replacements parts available, for some time. Need new seats as neither hold air, seems to be at the valve.
@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures4 жыл бұрын
Yeah we can thank Covid for that not INTEX, these have also been selling for months over $700. Just screwed everything up
@billdiver69514 жыл бұрын
@@WillWildsOutdoorAdventures yeah, I guess so to a point, but really if you don't got replacement parts then stop selling the product until you do.
