Willy Nillies Q-Tee RC Plane Sunrise Flight

My Q-Tee 250 making a sunrise flight. Built from a Willy Nillies laser cut balsa kit. Powered by a 1306 motor, 5x3 prop, and 2S battery. Spektrum AR410 receiver.

Once I reduced the excess rudder expo from the maiden flight, she began to control more precisely and banked more readily with stick input. This is a winner for calm morning flying!!!

I tried to stick with that spirit but the graphics are actually upsized a bit. The #1 is just a poke at the other WN Q-Tee builders who were all competing to have the 1st production kit available. My kit bag had the Serial #1 written on it with a Sharpie. All in fun! It was not the 1st customer-built version to be finished and flown but probably the 1st to be documented and shared on video.

Thanks! I think it’s about 7deg. It matches the dihedral braces in the kit pretty close. Feels about right!

nice plane. What is the max wind speed i can fly it? I live in Katy TX and the average wind in my area is 8 to 11 mph. Thanks for sharing

Thanks! That’s a tough question. I live near the coast, south of Houston. These small and light models fly best in very light winds. They may be able to fly in 8-11 conditions but they won’t fly “well”. It will be more of a wrestling match trying to keep it where you want it. I generally fly the lighter models early in the morning or late in to r evening when the winds are lightest. In the afternoons, with heavy winds, I generally prefer more stable larger models or kites.
