Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory is a 1971 American musical fantasy film directed by Mel Stuart and starring Gene Wilder as candymaker Willy Wonka. It is an adaptation of the 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. The film tells the story of a poor child named Charlie Bucket (Peter Ostrum) who, upon finding a Golden Ticket in a chocolate bar, wins the chance to visit Willy Wonka's chocolate factory along with four other children from around the world.

I really liked Gene Wilder in this movie because he was my favorite actor, people wanted him to be remembered as Willy Wonka. I loved Jack Albertson in this movie and I liked the way he portrayed the voice of Amos slade in the animated movie “The Fox and the Hound”, he was very good at it.

I am not sure how accurate Movie Anniversary's age descriptions are; I have seen his video about the "Marry Poppins" cast; and I am sure he was wrong about how old Julie Andrews was when she played Mary Poppins; I have looked through two sites that said that she was the same age as the character from the books she played; For "M.P." Author P.L. Travers who was summoned by Disney for her consultation on the writing and music lyrical passages for the movie; She was accepting of Ms. Andrews as playing the title character because she was the proper age and as almost proper.
