Great series. You’ve got us all hooked on the Jeep-junk once again so you’d better keep em coming.

Good work Brian. Great old school craftsmanship. Keep on smiling. That sunshines coming and soon, the doors will be open, the birds will be singing, and life will be good again. I had my workshop doors open for the first time yesterday... What a feeling!

We are still getting dumped on with snow/sleet, and colder than normal temperatures. Can't wait to open up the doors and let the sun shine in. Great to hear from you again, keep on watching. Brian

Great work as usual. Question . Any reason not to make floor from a single piece?
@metalshaperJeep6 жыл бұрын
A one piece floor is fine for low quality vehicles and people who don't care about originality. Many people wanted to see how to make a correct CJ5 floor so that is what I am doing.

How did you make that body mount hole

Think one could grind down some flatstock to make a panel Flanger and weld those to a pair of vice grips to get a decent effect

you can buy flanging pliers already made. they are available on ebay, or at autobody tool supply companies, tool dealers, etc.... They are available in pliers type or even pneumatic operated if you are doing a lot of work. I use the pullmax machine to get a perfect result in a very short time. Thanks for watching hope this answered your question. Brian

Great job, but I have a quick question. If I understood you correctly, the original offset panel was to cover the fuel tank hole left from the M38 design, and now you're replicating that in the new floor panel. Why not delete the offset panel now that you're making a whole new floor panel? Did the owner want it back as original, or is there another reason it needed to be done that way? Thanks again. I learn tons from watching your videos.

If you are following the Snowblower CJ5 project you will see that I replaced the floor with a one piece design. Made it heavier than original to last a long time. On the CJ5 body tub project I made it original because a lot of folks wanted to see how to make the proper floor, and because it will add lots of value to this Jeep when finished. Easy to see it is correct from the underside and will bring much more money if the owner ever decides to sell.

That is totally understandable, and exactly what I figured. Thanks for keep me straight.

Lots of trolls out there and seems like I always get thumbs down from people. I am not worried about it because there isn't anyone out there doing the stuff I do so I guess they are just a bunch of jealous, whining, lazy trolls.
