Willys Jeep 4 speed swap transmission crossmember! In this video the new Willys drivetrain is all sitting on its own weight and supported by all the crossmembers and mounts. There’s several different ways to do this portion of the swap and I mention a few in this video. I’m very happy with the final product but hopefully you can learn from my mistakes. This video should apply to most Willys Jeep cj2a, cj3a, CJ3B, and early cj5!

Had the exact same issue when I put a SM465 behind my Dauntless V6. Advanced Adapter's trans to transfer case adapter provides the mount points using the stock crossmember. But that stinking little side mount. Did the same as you with the 1/4" plate.

Great to see you back on the 3b. I think you could have used the steel plate and saved yourself some work. Bolt the transfer to the cross-member, then drill 2 new holes in the steel plate to match up to the 4 speed adapter.

I would bolt the flat bar to the crossmember and put the mount out under the lug, don't know why though...😁

What i did when i built my T18 crossmember was to use a piece of L-bracket and attach it along the back part of the stock crossmember. The rubber bushing mounts to that bracket 2" back.

You don't need the front trans mounts. They were for the p/u trks. Trying to send pics on Instagram. I had to change the imput shaft to a shorter one. The J trks had a 5 inch extension between the bell & the trans.

Good to see ya make some progress on the build. Im still working on my yj. I ordered a windshield frame and it showed up bent into a u shape 😑. Struggles are real .

AA has a chain and sprocket clutch linkage. Looks like it solves a lot of wear point problems

For all of your Jeep needs look no farther than C&C equipment, Scott over there , has all jeep parts brand new and other parts, for all jeep sizes and styles, ,clint is the owner mand C&C equipment,has a KZbin channel,and the phone number is right on the introduction,ok thanks , p.s. Advanced adapters in Paso Robles California has ant adapter engine the transmission you would ever want too, thanks BigAl California.

Hey, Jacob. I wouldn't stress about that side mount on the transfer case much. On my 67 V6 CJ, for whatever reason, they did pretty much exactly what you did from the factory... except it most certainly wasn't 1/2" thick. It was probably 1/4" with a little "Z" bend in it to go under the transfer case ear and on top of the rubber mount. I'm assuming it's just kind of a stabilizer to keep the power train from rocking side to side and likely relieves a little stress on the transfer mount in a hard pull, etc.
