Wonderful California, 1935 vs 2020 'Nostalgic_Vintage_Retro'(NVR) drive along Wilshire Blvd, Beverly Hills, LA. Compare street views back then and now, driving habits of the Past. How much of a difference after 80+ years of 'progress'?

This rear-view footage was apparently shot by Hollywood studios for use in scenes outside the back window of moving vehicles. Some of which have just the right or left side view driving down the same street.

Millions of people should view this, and realize how we went down.

Yeah, this city is WAY overbuilt now. All the charm is gone.

That whole park at Wilshire and Maple is just gone. I noticed in another one of your videos a mini mall had replaced a park. They really don't like green spaces in California.🌲🌳🌴

The City said we had to have those mini-malls in the 80's or commerce in the city would stop! 🙄 I'll ignore all the ignorant "it was better than because it was clean" comments. It was better then because it wasn't so flipping overbuilt!

Both my grandparents were born the year prior in September and December of 1934. It’s crazy that they were still babies when this was filmed. My grandpas mother (my great grandmother) was born in 1905 so she would’ve only been 30 years old when this was filmed, she passed away in 2004 at 99 and 1/2, I was only 2 years old at the time. My grandpa then passed away in 2017 at 82 years old and my grandma passed away 3 years later in 2020 at 85 years old. I miss them a lot, it’s crazy how much things change in a short amount of time.

The way they weren't driving in lanes back then gives me so much anxiety. It's really amazing to see the contrast from the 30's juxtaposed with modern times.

Looks like lanes were not marked that’s part of the problem.

Not like the new lane patterns in 2023 matter since LA has such speed and bad drivers. Drivers back in the day at least aren't in a hurry to be somewhere.

Now this is genuinely different. Whatever is so offensive to people about current times was well underway by the 1950s, as your Sunset Blvd video demonstrated: palm trees waving in the dirty air above the junky stores below. But this is so different it's another universe. Empty lots off Wilshire, NO palm trees in the 1930s evidently, and a smaller city feel. Today a river of big, big, BIG money rolls down Wilshire, and it's a snarl of skyscrapers.

So overbuilt and they have plans to overbuild more! Sucking all the charm out of this city. That's the REAL issue, not the homeless or crime.

I enjoy watching the footage of traffic before some genius dreamed up the idea of "lanes."

Since there were no lanes or signalling back then presumably being able to read the minds of other drivers was a prerequisite before taking to the road.
