I came back to tennis in January after not playing for over 20 years. I moved up to the advanced class and bought a Babolat Pure Drive 100 strung with Hyper G 120 at 52lbs. I don’t know much about what strings help with forgiveness. I am starting to develop tennis elbow and I’m considering trying different strings/tension on the pure drive or switching rackets all together. I am considering trying out the Wilson Clash.

Yes, definitely try the Clash, it’s proven to be a miracle racket for players like yourself!

He is talking about the Clash 100 V2, the pictures show the Clash Pro. Different rackets. I have both.

Your comments about the "mushy" feel on the Clash is probably due to what strings you used. I tried out several types of strings and some indeed had that "mushy" feel until I found the best one: great feel, power, spin, and lasted long: the Yonex Poly Tour Pro 17 gauge strung at 48 lb for a Clash 100.

Thanks for your reply! Poly Tour Pro 17 does make a lot of sense in this racket, glad it worked out for you. Definitely more crispy than the softer strings Wilson recommends.

I hope V2 is more predictable than the first one which was like a box of chocolates. You never knew what you were going to get after hitting the ball.

I certainly thought it was. I was not a fan of the V1 for that very reason, but with this one, after a bit of an acclimation period, didn't struggle with consistency much at all.

@@RacketsRunnersVancouver when I got my clash, I struggled getting used to it. While my backhand became more stable my forehand took quite some time to get used to it. I wouldn't trade my clash for any other racket. My forehand and my serve have become powerfull and very consistent.

I want to change to it cos of tennis elbow, but I am a 1 hbh player. I hear ots good cos its soft, 295 gr, balance of 32, but I low swingweight of 313. I fear not feeling that I can hit through the ball with the backhand because of the low swingweight. I cannot buy it to test it. What do you recommend me?

I think you'll be ok with it, it's very comfortable and plenty stable/powerful.

hi im ntrp 5.5 to 6.0 , came back recently from elbow surgery and my deportologist suggested me to try to adapat and compete with raquets with low RA , thing is dont know if 98 is more stable than 100 becouse of the extra weight also . so i was thinking should i compete with the 98 , the 100 or look up for other arm friendly raquets for my arm. im the tipcal pure strike 98 16x19 , blade 100. need control first and power second but i cant be too controlish now becouse of my arm but still would like control priority what do you sugest
@RacketsRunnersVancouver
@RacketsRunnersVancouver Жыл бұрын
These would certainly be comfortable but I'm not sure you will have enough control. The current Blade 98 is very soft (one of the softest ever Blades) and a much better option for control. You can also look into the Gravity line from Head!

wondering how this compares to my old Head Ti Radical OS 100”. What are the primary competitors to the new Clash v2 100”?
@RacketsRunnersVancouver
@RacketsRunnersVancouver 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Kim. The Clash 100 V2 will be more powerful and more comfortable than the Ti Radical OS. It will also be easier to use and more maneuverable. The Clash is a bit unique, but has similar power and spin characteristics to the Pure Drive and Ezone 100, but the softness and comfort of the Head Speed MP.

Have you tested the clash v2 pro ?
@RacketsRunnersVancouver

Yes, it's a bit different because of that thicker beam. Not my cup of tea but it's certainly more stable and powerful than the 100.

Hi. Have you tried the Clash 98 V2 ir Blade V8 (16x19)? I'm between the blade and the Clash 98 V2, and since i can not test any of them, it's quite difficult the decisión. Nice Review!! 💪
@RacketsRunnersVancouver
@RacketsRunnersVancouver 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Emilio! I've tried both of these rackets. The Clash 98 was a great stick, more precise and stable than the 100. I would say, if you have played with Blades in the past but are looking for a slightly more forgiving and maneuverable stick, the Clash 98 would be perfect. Otherwise, for a more traditional flexible players' frame, go for the Blade.

@@RacketsRunnersVancouver I'm using pro staff 97L but I want something easier on the wrist. Should I get the clash 100, 98 or pro?
@RacketsRunnersVancouver
@RacketsRunnersVancouver 2 жыл бұрын
Hello! I would look into the Clash 100. It's the easiest transition in terms of weight, and I found it to be the most forgiving on the arm.

u really think there is a thing called fuel flex?? stable smart??? cmon man its just regular graphite
@RacketsRunnersVancouver
@RacketsRunnersVancouver 2 жыл бұрын
Hello! We have to disagree here. The Clash feels anything but traditional in its flex, making me believe that something within the construction of the graphite is indeed different. Whether it feels good or bad is up to each individual to decide, but be it FeelFlex or StableSmart, something is different.
