This is such a beautiful song. I'm glad that they had full orchestral backing to their wonderful harmonies. I was really disappointed this didn't lead to a second wave of hits for this great singing group.

Even though I was still a kid when they were popular, I remember being quite surprised that they seemed to fade so quickly with their sophomore album. In retrospect, I'd say this is amongst the very strongest of their songs. And it seems like it was a natural progression from the sound of their first album...but I guess trends and tastes were changing.

Isn't it very hard to listen to this beautiful song when your hearts been broken? But it's so beautiful both musically and lyrically that you keep coming back? It's strange that when listening to this beautiful song that it gives you mixed emotions? It can hurt you so much and makes you cry? And can make you feel stronger that you have to pull yourself together? But most of the time it will hurt you and really make you cry of the love you had and lost and leave you thinking? IF ONLY? 🥺💔😢

I love Chynna, Carnie, and Wendy, but I have to ask: was this performance lip-synched? It sounds exactly like the recorded version with the timing and all. Not dissing on the Wilson sisters and Chynna but I would've loved to hear this coming from them live if this was indeed lip-synched.
@JerryAllen19197 жыл бұрын
This was totally lip-synced, but Wilson Philips have such beautiful and unique sound...i miss the 90s.

Great in person version of their studio album.....nice to see this onstage here. Some technical stuff though: putting on my critical cap: (doesn't have anything to do w/ the great music.) Micr. technique in performance: Wendy is the best because she has the best sense of distance / visual presentation / appearance. The other two ladies: a little too close to the micr. and that's distracting; viscerally satisfying to the siinger to "eat the micr" but not so visually pleasing to your viewers. So Wendy here has the best visual presentation.
@timmellin2815 Жыл бұрын
I thought of this song at my brother in law's memorial service. I am usually reserved so after the "missing man" plane formation flew over the house, I sat out behind the garage by myself and cried, because I didn't want to be seen crying.

Wendy sang lead on some of the best songs on their second album, but she had no stage presence whatsoever. She's even bad at lip-synching - hamming it up way too much here. Chynna's the only one who looks somewhat like she's actually singing.

Remember the original music video for this song? She looked like a 90's supermodel. Yeah, the present Chynna didn't age as graceful as the Wilsons and she is kind of weird. I guess she always was it just became more apparent when she aged.
