I was a participant in the reenactment protrayed here! This was made originally in August 1991. I marched with Holmes Brigade U.S. Volunteers.

Finally, found on KZbin!! I was a reenactor with the Holmes Brigade U.S.V. 13:52 is one of the many cameos I made. Reenactor with Hardee's hat on in center of frame getting ready to load another shot. I remember the cameraman taking the shot. Also at 21:54, 31:50, 32:08, 34:08, 38:47 and 32:28 with a beige shirt with suspenders and blue pants. That day we were the 1st Iowa.

I came down from Fremont, Nebraska, with Gordy Whitcomb, one of the drummers I carried the original 1842 pattern Springfield musket.

37:08 was the best acting by the rebels and the best "fire by volley" from the Union line.

It is... And you will not regret the trip too Wilson's Creek... Take the southern route back towards Tenn across Missouri and specifically towards Chattanooga... There are 4 battlefields within easy range of the highway back, then in Chattanooga you can go south into Georgia and literally follow the army.. Dalton, resaca ECT ECT ECT... It's a wonderful drive if you have the time. Also can make a fun week of it if you want

@@jamesrichardson3322 yes I do believe so, as are quite a few others including most of Longstreet's endeavors after his venture West in the latter part of 63 after Gettysburg... Bean's Station was I think the culmination of that trek and I know all that and a couple smaller sights on that campaign are under water as part of the Cherokee river valley project I think it's called? But yeah sadly something like 20 sights are under water mostly in the Western theatre, Whereas back East most are under pavement and strip malls.. if you can try to see Wilson's Creek in August and September for the best experience as far as what they saw during the battle goes, but it is beautiful and very serine in fall and winter (prefer it then myself... Waaaay to hot out for this old country poke in summer, I'm more likely to end up a modern day casualty haha). Best of luck and enjoy! Hope you can get some in soon, sadly I don't see a bright future in our countries battlefield parks, best enjoy while it's still there and staffed with decent enough folks. Have fun!

@@hissyhonker220 I do too worry about the future of the Nation Battlefields Parks, too many leftist are attacking our history. Civil War reenacting has come under attack by the insane leftist.

@@jamesrichardson3322you are right, and it's sad.. you know what the real bull***t is? When a massive wave of interest was brewing back around 2013 and 15 for a few 150th anniversaries... Well long story short younger people and even older people were if not getting into reenacting themselves they found themselves going to them and then educating themselves.. well here's some critical race theory for the leftist morons... Just when black Americans were starting to literally go to reenactments and historical society events and learn of not just north and south, but 17th, 18th, 19th century exhibits and battlefield parks and places like Pamplin in Virginia and starting to really learn and make their own minds and in many cases learning about their heritage and and not just swallowing common core indoctrination preaching do this do that hate all that's bothering you.. blah blah Get my point yet? Frickin politicians People need to go back to common sense and reality with much haste before it's way too late...

@Moeman774746
@Moeman774746 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I could see that....Wilson's Creek was the bloodiest of the war up to that time, but it was still VERY early in the conflict. Antietam was the bloodiest day of the war, but it was only a one day battle. Gettysburg was the bloodiest battle of the war and it was a 3 day slog by comparison.

I participated in the 160th wilsons creek event...it's was cool but at the same time it was lame because there was no Confederates to fight against....plus too many rules at the Wilson's creek national park to have a epic battle event
