I am playing with the Blade v7 98 16 x 19 and the feel is really outstanding. There is a nice balance of power and control. I tried the Clash 98 which is also a good racquet but not as solid as the Blade and didn't offer enough stability and had a funky feel with balls hit off center.

Great Wilson video Jonas! Welcome to the Clash 98 club. I know you weren't as enamoured with it when you reviewed first time around, but sounds like you're liking it now. I love my Clash 98 and agree that it totally works well with a one handed backhand. Great for the touch shots at net too.

What string and tension set up are you using with your Clash 98? Did you add any weight? If so, where and how much. I played with the Clash 98 for a month and definitely feel that this racquet is string and tension sensitive. I don't use poly any more due to arm issues. I have been using the Blade v7 98 16 x 19 as my main racquet but just bought a brand new Clash 98 due to the 30 day guarantee. I strung up with Wilson Sensation at 53lbs and plan to add a little weight to improve the stability. What impressed me the most with Clash 98 as it's very easy to use and I didn't get nearly as tired for long playing sessions. I will experiment with some other synthetic string setups.

@@kenharris7194 I was using a full bed of Luxilon Big Banger Alu Power Rough @48lbs. I'm going to get it restrung with Hyper G @ 48lbs hopefully soon. I haven't ever used lead tape before. Best Wilsons right now are the PS97 v13 and Blade v7 16x19. Mind you they are great only if you order them close to original spec. Quality control problems can really ruin the play and perception of Wilson racquets. It's worth the extra $10-20 from tennis Warehouse to order the spec you want

I completely agree on Clash 98. It grew on me too to the point that I play with it now instead of my Blade v7 16x19 which I loved as well. In additional to being an arm saver is actually a great frame for control, power and spin. Very, very good all around racquet. I hope you re-review it and post a new video. @@kenharris7194 I did not add any weight, yet. I might over time. Playing with nat. gut that came with one I bought used and Hyper G (switching that now to Velocity MLT). Enjoying Clash 98 out of the box. Headlight balance is very nice, making the experience whippy, easy to play. I find Clash 98 very easy on my shoulder, whereas Blade was giving me a few problems (framed serves and ground stokes would send a shock to both elbow and shoulder, whereas Clash 98 is very comfortable. Its angled frame dissipates shock). I also found that the swing-weight between Blade and Clash 98 is not very different (a few grams), so have not modified the weight yet.

Can you please review Artengo rackets. I know that there's an article on your website, but it would be great to do a video, especially considering how cheap they are. If what I have heard is true, the artengo rackets are half as cheap as the Babolat Pure Aeros but perform the same or even better. It would be great if you could do a video for that. It'll save a lot of people money if the stories are to be believed.

Hi! Can you explain the difference between the “feel orientated” blade rackets vs the “precision orientated” pro staff? Isn’t feel and precision and control the all connected and similar? What makes the blade and pro staff different from each other besides balance? Thank you! I do have a 2015 18x20 blade and a v13 pro staff and they do feel very different but I tend to feel like the blade is easier on arm than pro staff but the pro staff seems to be better for spin and serves
@jiboo68502 жыл бұрын
i know it's old comment but , control is a byproduct of feel and precision. feel is for ball contact, feeling where the ball hits the strings and the spin load in the ball. precision is the "spray". if you can aim at the same spot in your shots, at least 6/7 times out of 10, then you have a good precision. therefore the addition of the 2 give you the control notation. cheers

Hi, congratulations for the vid, really great. I learned to play using a Clash 100 2 y.a but now that I am more like a intermediate level, I am not feeling very confident with the class in terms of control (I am much more putting the ball than shooting the ball in winners). I am considering that I need a more stiff racquet, to absorve less impact and sting less. Before this vid I am considering maybe change to Blade or Pro. Does this make sense? Thanks
