First of all, thank you a lot for such beneficial content but I am having a hard time comprehending how does an aircraft which has a heading of 30 degrees could have a south-directed velocity. Can anybody help me figure it out please?

Thanks for the slides. Your rotation matrix in slide 4 is incorrect. R= cos psi -sin psi sin psi cos psi

Okay… the confusion here is your rotation matrix is clockwise while the coordinate system is rotating counterclockwise.
