Piggybacking on MC's post, in Game 7 of the 1965 Eastern Finals, Chamberlain scored 30 points on 12-15 shooting, he grabbed 32 rebounds, and he scored the last 6 points of the game to pull the 76ers within 1 point with 5 seconds left in the game. Unfortunately, Havlicek stole the inbounds pass and the rest is history. In this hard-fought series, Chamberlain became the only NBA player to average a 30-30 (e.g., 30.1 points, 31.4 rebounds) in a playoff series and he did this against the great Bill Russell.

GREAT VIDEO SIR!!!!!
@PJCG062 ай бұрын
▪︎ Wilt Chamberlain's dominance on the court is unparalleled. It's baffling how some younger fans dismiss the legends of the past, thinking only guards can be the G.O.A.T. Wilt's ability to control both ends of the court, his sheer physicality, and his unmatched athleticism make him the greatest player ever. Kareem himself acknowledged Wilt as the G.O.A.T, and that's a testament to Wilt's greatness. ▪︎ The video is fantastic, but I agree that the 1965 ECF Game 7 should have been included. It was a historic game, the only 30-30 series in NBA history, and Wilt's clutch performance was phenomenal. His ability to hit crucial shots from both the field and the free-throw line kept the 76ers in the game. ▪︎ The 1962 NBA All-Star Game is another testament to Wilt's greatness. Scoring 42 points, grabbing 24 rebounds, and shooting 73.9% from the field in an All-Star game is incredible. This version of Wilt would undoubtedly dominate today's NBA. His athleticism and skill set were ahead of his time, and he remains a better athlete than most players in the league today. ▪︎ It's mind-blowing that Wilt used to hold his fadeaway jumper, knowing no one could block his shot. His confidence and skill were unmatched, and it's a joy to watch these highlights in 4K. Wilt Chamberlain's legacy is cemented as the most dominant player in basketball history.

You know what I find interesting.... In almost every other sport athletes from the 1960s are respected in the highest degree with the exception of basketball players.... Why is that???.... If I say Muhammad Ali, if I say Mickey Mantle, if I say Jim Brown, if I say Gordie Howe ,if i say Arnold Palmer, all of which dominated in the 1960s I get instant respect all those gentlemen and nobody questions those gentlemen's ability to play in any era...... But for whatever reason basketball is the most scrutinized sport of all time..... It is as if whatever era you play in if it's more than 20 years from where you're watching basketball it's not respected what's the same way when I was growing up in the 80s and 90 s..... I used to tell my friends they will come a day when Michael Jordan will not be as respected by Future generations because look at how we sit here and talk crap about players from 60s and 70s they will be doing that to Michael in 2020.... Boy was I right...... Everybody that's a Steph Curry nut right now guess what in 20 years all his records are being broken by all of these kids that are practicing three-point shooting because it's really not that dynamic of a skill to have..... It's just one aspect of basketball..... Just like how they change the rules in football and how all of Dan Marino's records suddenly fell........ I promise you Steph Curry in 20 years will get shitted on when you start seeing players all around the league making the same amount of 3s he's making because that's all that generation has practiced..... They'll just say oh he he was just doing stuff before everybody else did he's not that good he couldn't play today LOL😂........

"Yo, this video is 🔥! Wilt Chamberlain was an absolute beast on the court, and it's crazy to see his top 10 games in such high quality. But let's talk about something that's been bugging me for a while. Why do basketball legends from the past not get the same respect as other sports icons from the same era? Like, you mention Muhammad Ali, Mickey Mantle, Jim Brown, Gordie Howe, and Arnold Palmer, and everyone nods in agreement about their greatness. But when it comes to basketball, it's like there's always this asterisk next to their names. Take Wilt, for example. People love to downplay his achievements by saying he played against shorter, less athletic players. But come on, the guy scored 100 points in a single game! That's insane no matter how you slice it. And it's not just Wilt. Look at Bill Russell, who won 11 championships in 13 seasons. Yet, there's always this narrative that they wouldn't be as dominant in today's game. Why can't we just appreciate their greatness for what it was? And speaking of eras, it's wild to think about how the same thing is happening with modern players. Steph Curry is revolutionizing the game with his 3-point shooting, but I can already see the future where people will say, 'Oh, he was just ahead of his time. Players today are way better.' It's like a never-ending cycle of disrespect. I get that the game evolves, and players get better, but that doesn't mean we should diminish the achievements of past legends. Every era has its challenges and its stars who rise above them. So let's give Wilt, MJ, and even Steph their due respect. They all changed the game in their own way, and that's something that should be celebrated, not scrutinized. 🏀💯" - @GENZ_HOOPS_FAN, 3 weeks ago

Q: “Can anybody stop Wilt Chamberlain in 2024?” A: Honestly, Wilt Chamberlain was a beast, and I don’t think anyone today could stop him. Imagine combining Shaquille O’Neal’s power, Hakeem Olajuwon’s finesse, and Victor Wembanyama’s versatility into one player - that’s Wilt. He was an athletic marvel, and his dominance on both ends of the court was unmatched. Wilt would’ve given LeBron James a run for his money. His defense was impeccable; he never fouled out of a game, which is insane. The officiating back then was strict, and today’s players would be called for carrying the ball every possession.

CP3 before CP3 but nastier and meaner. A warrior and one of the games greatest strategist and generals. Quietly a top5 passer. 2x Champ 2x FMVP 14. Oscar Robertson - the greatest all around basketball player ever. Could do everything at a AllNBA level. Changed the way players were interpreted and influenced generations. 1x Champ 2x MVP 15. Kevin Durant - the Slim Reaper is likely the most ideal offensive weapon ever. Can hit from anywhere, anytime over anyone. Hard to beat and impossible to match that level of offensive dominance. 2x Champ 2x FMVP 1x MVP 16. Julius Erving - The good Dr., the FIRST MJ (before Magic & Jordan), The icon and face of BOTH leagues that saved the game in the 70’s. Kareem was the best but Doc was a close 2nd. Underrated statistical brilliance. Was like a 6’7-6’8 Giannis but with a better jump shot. 3x Champ (1 NBA) 2x FMVP 4x MVP (1 NBA) 17.. Moses Malone - CHAIRMAN OF DA BOARDS. Arguably the best board getter… ever. Only Wilt, Russell, Rodman and Thurmond belong in the same discussion. Moses lead his people to the promise land more than once but was able to claim immortality in the early 80’s. His team lead by the dynamic duo of he and Doc dominated the league. Before Lakers v. Celtics it was 76ers v. Celtics-Lakers. 1x Champ 1x FMVP 3xMVP 17. John Havlicek - the GREAT one. MJ is 6-0. Ole Johnny is 8-0. The offensive force off the bench or starting that lead the dynastic Celtics to all 8. Early in his career he was akin to Jordan Poole role on Warriors 22’ team but better at everything but the 3 ball. Then in the late 60’s-70’s he sat in captains seat. His career is a unique mix. Played like Pippen with elite perimeter shooting/scoring, early career was early Kobe-esque, late career MJ/Kobe-esque. John’s game rose in the playoffs. 8x Champ 1x FMVP (likely 4x) 18. Giannis Antetokounmpo - it’s getting freaky… GreekMan is literally on the ride to potentially threatening Tim’s best PF title. If he can add a couple more rings to his already HOF profile he will likely be the new PF or TOP 5 player. Yea. THAT GOOD. 1x Champ 1x FMVP 2x MVP 1x DPOY 19. Jerry West - The LOGO. Steph Curry before Steph. The man that built the LA franchise along Baylor post Mikan era. Jerry West was the blueprint skill base for players like Kobe, MJ, TMac, etc At 6’2-6’3 he torched his opponents his entire career and dropped plenty of dimes. The ORIGINAL combo guard. So damn great he LOST and still won FMVP… case closed. 1x Champ 1x FMVP 20. Nikola Jokic - the Joker is no damn joke. Genuinely a candidate for potential GOAT if his career pans out in the extreme positive like that of the top 10. Jokic is in a unique place being the greatest passing big statically NBA history (excluding Magic). If Jokic finds a way to fit more jewelry in his fingers, we might have to have a real discussion about that greatest Center of all time discussion. Yes. Not to mention Kareem put up 37p, 25r, 8a, proving to everybody that Wilt never dominated Kareem. 1972 Finals game 5 Wilt was being guarded by Bradley and still needed Goodrich and West to do the majority of the scoring. Then in the 1970 Finals game 5, the only game Wilt scored more than 20p was when Willis Reed didn't play, and then still lost the series. Wilt's legacy is based off narratives and tall tales

Hahahahaha so first, this period of Wilt career when Kareem was playing, was after Wilts knee blew out. He was never the same after that. Additionally, Wilt never needed anyone to do the scoring. You can see it plainly in his stats that the later part of his career he was finally with great scorers and let them do a lot more of the point work while he focused on defense. It has more to do with everyone filling their role as opposed to the prior years when Wilt carried the whole team. That said....in the areas that Wilt was focused on, he beat out Kareem. No need in comparing points, Wilt wasn't the main scorer. Especially before the knee blowout, Wilt was a far better player than Kareem and Hakeem. All three were excellent, but in his prime, Wilt would smoke them. Kareem couldn't even out rebound old broken Wilt.
