Day one of our four day trip to triangle academy of jiujitsu in franklin TN! Always a blast when we go down there. One of the tougher rooms we get to train in consistently.

That was a joy to watch. Chef kiss passing, back takes and overall punishment....and big shout out to last guy with all that cardio to shake out of top mount a couple times and actually get an ashi garami attempt started!

I probably gave him almost 30 points in order to get that ash just for him to turn and kick out of it lol. It was an amazing experience to feel how someone at the very very top of the sport feels. Thank you Andrew and Bird for coming down and making all of us better.

As a complete hobbyist in the sport I ask myself how can one get this good, but then I remember the footage of Wiltse literally living in a box with a pad lock at the “front door” and doing jiu jitsu all day every day…. Pure dedication and sickening commitment, that’s how one gets that good……. If I can only find a box to live in :)

From the takedown, to the pass, to the mount, to the back take, to the submission. All against some very competent rollers, and you made it look fluid & easy. Impressive, very impressive.

52 seconds…I’d be pissed if I was Andrew trying to teach this guys school and he’s throwing scissor sweeps. I think Andrew would rather save his knees for competition at this point in his career.

Opponent planted his left hand and made a deliberate takedown attempt. You aren’t going to hurt someone if you perform the move properly.

Andrew and I have been training partners for seven years. Also, we are both elite competitors training for the highest level (including ADCC, where this technique is allowed). Its like anything else ... if you train & understand it, its not very dangerous at all

@@claymayfieldbjj I dunno man, I bet if you put it in percentages, the scissor sweep has taken more knees than any other transitional move in bjj. Was Andrew there to train for competition or to help your school? If it’s the latter, I still contend it’s not a good thing to be doing to him. Not worth the risk. He’s there to teach not to train for competition.
@Danjr704

Dick move going for Kani Basamj at :52 You should never do that move during rolling. If you wanna do it during competition, fine. But that move (if done wrong) is instant knee surgery.
@claymayfieldbjj
@claymayfieldbjj Жыл бұрын
Same is true for Kimura, heel hook or anything else. Andrew and I are preparing for ADCC - if you’re going to compete at the highest level, you have to understand and be ready for all the techniques

@@claymayfieldbjj at what expense? Andrew been out of competition for however many months… I have no issue with pushing the pace and rolling hard, especially when a competition is coming up, but there’s a reason that moved is banned in basically every judo competition and a lot of BJJ competitions. But hey yeah do what ya want…
