I was fortunate enough to make it up to my friend Kirk Huff's school in St Louis to teach for an hour. I show a few passing options from the headquarters position that work very well for me, as well as explaining some of the theory behind playing the position itself.
We'll post the rolling footage tomorrow.
What do you guys want to see taught next?
While we do have free technique videos available on this channel, the difference in detail and structure between a free/short youtube video and a six hour instructional is significant. If you want to follow up and learn more, we have a plethora of insanely detailed instructionals on BJJ Fanatics. You can go to BJJFanatics.com and search Andrew Wiltse, or follow the link below.
bjjfanatics.com/search?q=Andr...
If you want to see more content like this, along with other things like pictures, flyers for seminars, smaller clips, random hood rat stuff, ect, check out my Instagram. It is by far the easiest way to get ahold of me outside of messaging me on patreon.
/ andrew.wiltse46
If you just have too much money in your life and want to throw some away to some questionable causes (Panda Express Daily??) You can look at Me and Birds personal Patreon. We post our video's early on patreon, as well as offer patreon exclusive content and interaction (Rolling commentary, merchandise coming soon, Wiltse Brothers BJJ discord, Q&A's, answering technique questions, ect)
/ wiltsebrothersbjj
If you want to see some actual high quality videos and documentary type stuff on the rest of the Daisy Fresh Crew, check out the Pedigo Submission Fighting KZbin. I don't have too much involvement in making those videos, but They do a pretty fantastic job with the production quality and editing.

Damn I love this sport. There aren't many other sports out there where the top level athletes are this engaging with the community and fans and also put so much of their tips and tricks out there for free. Imagine Kyrie Irving posting vids on his crossover or jumper.

This class changed my game. I'm able to pass guard to people I haven't successfully done. I'm enjoying jiu-jitsu more, and having fun in class. Thank you ❤️

Seconding what CB said, I’d prob recommend the Rode Wireless Go clipon lav mic. Alec Baulding uses them. They are also less likely to fall off and no wire to mess with.

when andrew says windshield wiper, he really means shin circle. the shin circle is related but very distinctly different from windshield wiping the feet

I'm so grateful for this content. I've been trying to learn HQs thinking the most important thing is to sit heavy on the foot and completely forgetting to pin the other leg. I've seen other you tube videos and attended several classes on the topic and never picked this concept up. Game changer! Andrew is an excellent teacher!

I use the "Rode VideoMicro Compact On-Camera Microphone" it's a shotgun mic so it doesn't catch the background noise as much and can be connected to your phone or camera

Thank you for sharing. Your audio options to escape the ambient / nat sound in the room recorded with the built in camera mic are 1) wireless lapel microphone (receiver must be camera compatible) downside you're wearing a microphone wired to a transmitter clipped to your clothing while physically rolling with another person) 2) boom style microphone 3) separate audio and camera equipment and learning to use clapsticks note: editing software likely necessary in this scenario. Good luck. Thank you. And thanks to your student my new FB friend Dakota Rae Zimmerman for sharing this on Facebook.

I run a movo mic, just like a rode but cheaper. I got a lot of tips from the think media page on gear, they do reviews on new stuff all the time. I run 3 cams for my KZbin channel, but looking to do more mma/bjj vids.

Pick up some lavalier mics! RODE has some great ones. I use a Sony a6500 and it works well enough, but if you're trying to dish out I'd recc one of their full-frame cameras like the A7iii.

Camera and sound is fine. My recommendation would be to have another camera going on the opposite side so all sides are shown. You could run them simultaneously or edit for the best angles during the commentary.

My recommendation would be to have a predator drone provide satellite imagery and have Morgan freeman give commentary. At the same time hire several hundred thousand trained masseuse’ to massage every potential viewer whilst they engage in the content.
