Federer blew it totally. It was a weird match, netiher of them played good for their standards. Federer, being the agressive player, had the chances. In another year Djokovic would have won in 4 sets, like 2015, after that first and third set. Somehow Federer came back in the fourth, in the fifth and even more amazingly hold his serve after he blew those match points.

Not just the match, but his celebration was epic too. Cool and calm, laughing at the stunned crowd and chewing the grass to signify to everyone that he's the GOAT!!
@natoskull2 Жыл бұрын
Nah he just eats the grass cause it's a tradition by him. Also his regular diet is plant based (doesn't consume animal meats or diary), so it makes sense he eats the grass. I believe it's his way to honor the tournament which was his biggest dream to win one day, when he was a little toddler. And a way to also humble himself before God, and to thank God himself for all the blessings he keeps putting in his life. That's my idea of why Nole eats the grass every time he wins the tournament at Wimbledon.
@andrjuska9556 Жыл бұрын
Natoskull, the answer is simpler than that, actually. Nole himself said on WIRED, that he simply wanted to do something different, and that he "couldn't have come up with a more original idea" so he decided to "might as well just eat some grass." :)

Other facts: Federer played in a different and tougher era/scenario than Novak and Nadal. Another fact: Nadal 13 and Federer 15 missed majors to date, while Novak only 3 (thus if the numbers were the opposite, Novak would have less major titles and Nadal/Federer would have more)...another fact is while Novak was in his 30s he played in the weakest era ever...and thus why he won half of his majors in his majors while Federer was 36+ in age missing 13 of 23 majors after 36....another fact is Novak was always 6 years younger than Federer, imagine if the tables were turned. Fact: everyone who watched 2019 Wimbledon final and Novak also admits it too, Federer was the better player that day and deserved to win that match. That one match/one point would of changed history. The Wimbledon crowd was extremely disrespectful towards Novak, the lady signaling 'just one more point', is one of the more annoying ones. Novak does not get the champion reception he deserves, but that does not matter, he shut the crowd down and won the tournament!

0 UFEs in final set TB is a bigger achievement than saving 2 MPs. Those 2 MPs going to Novak is a combination of Roger's mistake + Novak's skill + Roger's bad luck + Novak's good luck. I added luck factor coz... for example... at 40-15 Roger's 1st server missed an ACE just by a hair-width. And Novak's feet were pointing towards right-side... i.e. he was anticipating a wide serve. If the server went just a hair-width higher, it wud have been an ACE, or in the worst case a service winner for Roger, coz once feet are pointing in 1 direction, it will not be feasible even for a Novak level speedy guy to convert an ACE-level-serve into a winning point. Try to watch the 40-15 in ultra slow motion, and u can see everything I wrote here. This is not to support Roger. My main point is that 0 UFEs in set5 TB is a huge achievement than that 8-7 40-15 situation.
@mosemobuckland42873 жыл бұрын
@@madhukiranattivilli2321 I don't think Roger choked in the 8-7 game in the 5th set when he had 2 match points, but Roger DID choke in the tiebreaker in the 1st set, because he missed 3 easy shots during that tiebreaker. 2 of those 3 unforced errors were from his forehand side. The other 1 came from his backhand side. Considering the fact that Djokovic won that tiebreaker in the 1st set with 7-5, those 3 unforced errors from Roger ended up being very crucial errors. 5+2= 7. 7-2=5
@madhukiranattivilli23213 жыл бұрын
@@mosemobuckland4287 But where did I say Roger choked at 8-7 40-15 in set5! I said Roger's failure in set5 TB was more critical than his failure at set5 8-7 40-15. I'm assuming u r supporting my msg. Regarding set1 TB, obviously every point in the match is important... but if we have to prioritize, final set TB is extremely critical than set1 TB, coz even if Roger won set1, Novak still has 4 sets to recover.
