I remember when I first found your channel, you helped me save thousands in parts when I had a simple issue in my HAH Touring 2019. The locks wouldn't work, blink nor beep when locking or unlocking.. And your video guided me to the cause of the issue which was the hood latch. It was tricky on my car as it didn't seem damaged at all, but I tested it with a multimeter and found out that the switch was not closing the circuit. did the wire trick and viola! everything worked as normal. Swapped the part to new OEM and now no more electrical issue and no more guessing electricians. Thank you! Since I've only owned Japanese and worked on Japanese cars I'd say I'm more comfortable working on an Autel or Launch but since you want us to specify from the provided list. I'd say I'd go with the Thinkscan 689BT (Bluetooth version) since it can do all keys lost and the LAUNCH X431 PRO Elite since I'm familiar with Launch devices. Thanks a bunch sir, your channel truly deserves more recognition and support!

In my opinion the best choice for DIY is Thinkscan 689 and the second one is LAUNCH X431 PRO Elite , only one minus for the Launch that is the huge price for the updates.

For my cars and the available characteristics I think Xtool D7W and the Launch X432 PRO ELITE are the most complete tool's with a bit of room for expansion for some accessories if necessary. By the way, great reviews, keep up the good work 👍.

First, thank you for doing this. All the tools are excellent, and I wouldn't turn away any of them. But if forced to choose, I like the 3 year subscription of the VD70, and the layout of the Launch x431 scanner. We have 2 older Volvos, and it also looks initially like the VD70 handles the most Volvo features. :-)

I like like the Xtool and the with the remote connection also the programming capability - updates at $99 are reasonable, The Launch seem very high with updates at $189. As a DIY I would wait for a couple years and replace the machine to avoid the over priced updates. Nice video thanks for the organized video hitting the high points.

I like the Launch Pro Elite and the second choice, Thinkcar Thinkscan 689 as this one has lifetime free updates . But the subscription renewal on Launch Pro Elite is not bad especially the choice of accessories one can use with it making it more useful instead of being stuck with a scanner that does not have the ability to utilize different important accessories.Nice video explaining the different scanners. My two favorites are the THINKSCAN 689 and the Launch x431 Pro Elite. The THICKSCAN mainly because of its disruptive nature by way of the lifetime free updates (please do the smart-key programming with it). And the Launch because I’ve used their devices before (I own a CReader x431 for Honda/Acura vehicles and love it), and had nothing but great experiences with them.

Thank you for reviewing these scanners. I have been wanting to buy one for a while now. Lots of important information about each one of those scanner. Each one have its own pros and cons. You had mentioned that the Vdiag VD70 Tool does not support Mercedes, and I noticed that during your scrolling of the car list, Benz was listed as one of the cars. Would like to know why they called Benz instead of Mercedes Benz. Thank you for the time you spent on researching these scanners. My 1st Choice : LAUNCH X431 PRO ELITE. My 2nd Choice : XTOOL D7W

Good question. No real difference in omitting Mercedes. Actually, XTOOL was able to support ECU coding way before the manufacturer listed that it could support it. I'm sure, it'd be the same with the VD70.
