I always appreciate Don’t Pass strategies. It’s how I primarily play although I usually only take 1-2x odds and I hop the 5-2 and 6-1 on the come out roll to hedge my flat bet. Keep em coming Jeremy

When betting the don’t, you must consider yourself lucky to survive the come out roll to get into the position to lay odds. So always lay odds when you can.

Good video. I’ve become a majority don’t player nowadays and this is similar to how I play. I figure once I’ve made it past the come out, I’ve got the advantage and lay at least 3x odds or more. If I’m up overall, I’ll add one or two DP bets with odds as well. To each his own but for me, discipline and bankroll management are key. I walk when I’ve hit a “target” goal winning amount or the bankroll (for that session) is depleted. I’ve learned the hard way chasing losses can be a killer. Overall, the DP with odds has been my best overall strategy. Regardless what you do- have fun and remember it’s just a game and odds always favor the house. Good luck at the tables!

hey, this may be one of the best videos i've seen on YT covering the don't pass w odds and the don't come with odds. well-paced, good commentary, great pace, and nice explanation! bonus: the felt and table/chips look sick! well done. i dont gamble as much any more - but i will say 10years ago when i frequented the only games i consistently won at were poker (against other humans) and craps w the don't pass and dont come with 6x odds for each. obviously got lucky with the craps consistent wins - it's one of the best bets in the sino' but it's still a small small house edge. i always liked that a single roll couldn't eradicate all the don't pass and don't come bets at once. side note: best ive ever won in a craps sess was 10 straight hours at a craps table. don't pass + dont come w 6x odds. had to get the floor to get me a chair at one point - back and knees were hurting 3 days later. i came to the sino' in the light, stayed overnight, and left as the sun was coming up. cheers!

You hit the nail on the head. Even though it is proportionately in the opposite direction than the pass line, you bet (risk) more and win less. I like the Pass Line with a little less chance of winning than the Don't Pass but, everyone can play anyway they want to. Pass or Don't pass, all are playing against the house and the house edge.

This is probably the most advanced concept in craps and very well explained! When playing the Don'ts, I use a lot of hedging strategies so I usually put a large line bet ($40 versus a $10 on the pass line), and then hop the 7s on the come out. If the point is 6 or 8, I may place the point to limit my losses (and gains), with the 5 and 9, I do a lay bet and with the 4 and 10, I will play the hardways which improves my odds so I will usually do a higher lay bet.

In my lifetime of playing Craps (8 years), I'm actually up money. I started off down a few thousand my first few years because I was playing pass line only but then I shifted to mostly don't pass and now my historical winnings are in the green. This is very rare for gambling considering that all games have a house edge. Part of it honestly is gut feel and vibe. Whenever someone at the table looks unkept and disheveled, looks like they are a lifetime loser player, or looks like they are bad luck I bet the don't pass and I usually win 60% of the time. Whenever someone is shooting wearing a suit, well groomed, looking like they have tons of swagger I just stand pat and don't bet and usually those guys hit their point. I know I may get beaten up for saying this as being disrespectful, that's not my intention but honestly for some reason this just happens. Good luck to all my fellow Craps players, have fun out there!

Sometimes you will find a dealer who doesn’t know how to handle odds on don’t bets, or at least forgets because only few players bet the don’t and lay odds as well. I found a dealer that paid me even money on lay odds for ahalfhourbefore he caught himself. This precisely the reason that you should never play bubble Craps.

So with this strategy of playing the don't wouldn't it make more sense to change how you play depending on where the point lands. So if it's on the 6 or 8 which are the second most rolled, maybe you do something different. If it's on the 4 or 10 you go hard with the dark side strategy. I'm curious about how different strategies would work using the point as the deciding factor. Like if the point is 5 and you are on the pass line already maybe you play the field then and place bet the 6 and 8

This is the best strategy to win at craps! Don't pass bet and two don't come bets let them sit wait for the seven. Rarely are the odds in your favor at the casino Once you pass the opening seven , the odds are in your favor to win and in the long run , you will win playing this way. Don't be afraid to sit out when a shooter has hot dice. Think about it. How often is a point established and the very next roll is seven out! This is also , why the dealers promote the past line bet to new players and don't promote the don't pass.

Don't know if this was a true fair comparison. Wouldn't it be a better comparison if they both bet close to the same amounts but player on left put it all on bet vs player on the right that split it between bet and odds? In other words, instead of 10 vs 10 plus odds compare 60 vs 10 plus odds or something like that. I'm new to this. Never played craps before in my life but am very intrigued. Sorry if I'm missing something.
@h2t26 Жыл бұрын
I'm still new and really don't like the don't come bets. It's too unpredictable as to what number it would land. It's more likely to get a 6 or 8 where I don't want to put odds. Also max odds...idk. You definitely need a larger bankroll, so I think comparing the two like this isn't fair. Where a flat better might come in with 5000 or 1 k, the odds bet person would come in with 1.5k or 3k. Basically more then a flat better to cover their losses long enough to start winning.

Okay, here are a few tips for "Don't Pass Betting" Tip 1. The more bets you make, the more of a house edge you give, no matter the Pass or the Don't Pass. That being said, you can start with a minimum Don't Pass bet, then lay odds. If you want more action then place the 6 & 8 for any amount you want. You will never lose money on those bets as long as your minimum Don't Pass bet and the odds you lay cover them. (Example: $24 each on 6 & 8 along with 15 Don't Pass bet and 60 odds) Tip 2. In that situation, if you were to get 2 hits on either the 6 or 8, there's nothing wrong with pulling them down and removing your odds, you won on that roll, no need to take a chance that you don't have to. If the 7 comes before a hit on the 6 or 8 you're covered and you make a small profit even if you lose the 6 & 8, You can only lose if the point comes. Tip.3 Always if the point is 4, 6, 8, or 10 always play the hard way of that number, it reduces the house edge a bit. ( Example: if the point is 6 and you have a 50.00 Don't pass bet, throw 5.00 on the hard 6, and you reduce your chances of losing from 5 to 4) Good Luck.
@ColorUp8 ай бұрын
every bet is independent and the hardways carry a house edge of 9-11% so when you make a hardway bet you are increasing house edge on your money. It’s incorrect to believe it reduces house edge, it only decreases one dice combo that your number would lose to.
@BET-YOU-DIDNT-KNOW-1238 ай бұрын
@@ColorUp Obviously you misunderstood my statement. If you have a $50.00 Don't Pass Bet, and the point is 6, betting five dollars on the hard 6 does reduce the house edge from 5 ways to lose on the bet to 4. If the point is a 4, betting the hard 4 reduces your ways of losing on that bet from 3 ways to 2 ways. I don't understand how anyone can't see that.

@@emmanuelvacakis4463 Do you mean established don't come bets? Because the casino will not allow you to lay odds on the come out roll of a don't pass bet.
@emmanuelvacakis44632 жыл бұрын
@@ColorUp of course not. You can’t lay odds when a point number hasn’t been established. That’s precisely the point. You have to survive the Come Out Roll. You have 8 ways to lose and only 3 ways to win with 1 way to tie. So you must consider yourself fortunate to get past the Come Out Roll with no damage. When you survive the Come Out Roll, you should lay the maximum odds for the house. The house makes nothing on the lay odds just like they make nothing on taking odds on Pass Line and Come Bets. If you are making Come Bets, you should have your odds working on Come Out Rolls for the Pass Line. Having the odds off is like not having odds for one roll. You might ask the casino if you can have your flat bets off on the Come Out Roll. If so, then your odds will be off as well. I’m sure the casino will not allow that. But the point I’m making is that you never want to get paid on Come Bets without odds. For that matter, you never want to get paid on a Pass Line Bet without odds either. The odds of 7 is the same whether it’s a Come Out Roll or not. If after a point winner on the Pass Line and you have the other 5 numbers with maximum odds from Come Bets, you must have the odds all working. This is how I play. There are 19,20, or 21 combinations on the dice depending on which number just hit that will produce a winner for one of your Come Bets if you have all the numbers. If the 7 comes, that’s just too bad. The 7 can come on other rolls with exactly the same frequency. If you are playing with a good dice mechanic, you have a positive expected value on all your odds so long as the shooter doesn’t try for a 7 on the Come Out Roll. Obviously if the shooter try’s for a 7, then you should have your odds off on the Come Out Roll only because the statistical probability for the 7 becomes greater than average. But a random shooter has no control whether he or she wants a 7 or not. I bet the don’t against random shooters and I bet whatever a control shooter bets. I also look to see if the shooter has a lot of chips in the rack as well. Not all dice setters are successful at their craft. It’s difficult to be successful throwing dice. It takes hours of practice. You also have to know the table surface and know how your dice are performing for you so you can make adjustments in your throw.
@ColorUp2 жыл бұрын
If someone could control the dice they could have a positive expected value on their bets. In the meantime, the casino is happy to accept all comers to try.
