Hey mate I'm an Ex-Australian Soldier sustained a lower limb ( right ankle) broken ankle injury that was mis diagnosed (the x-ray didn't pick it out, but a MRI 6 months later finds it )I would run on it every Monday for PT & get the run done in the allocated time but later that same day ( after I cooled down ) I would be limping. The next day I'd still be limping & then go to the Regimental Aid Post & get a no running chit & anti inflammatory tablets for the rest of the week, but come the next Monday do another 5klm or 12 klm run & go through the same process for the remainder of the next 6 months unless of course we were on exercise or overseas. I boxed for 20 years before, during & after the Army & have been coaching it now for 20 years, I've recently turned 49 & have had my left knee's meniscus cartilage removed 5 years ago. I stopped training myself the last 3 years on excuses of injuries & time management. But after reading your book I have started getting up early again at 04:00hrs & crank out the sit ups & push ups & Shadow Boxing as it is too early in the morning to hit the bag ( it'll wake up my family & neighbours if I do ) I thought I had lost my mojo, but now thanks to you realise that it was always there... seriously God Bless you.

I was in a car accident and fractured my neck, I was overweight and in so much pain, I lost my job, my car was totaled and had to move back in with my mom, I couldn’t take care of myself or my 7 year old daughter. I was depressed and felt helpless. The doctors told me it would take months to heal and not to remove the neck brace and after listening to David Goggins and reading his books I thought “f that, I’m gona carry the boats and logs!” lol So I started doing pushups and working out with a fractured neck and with the c collar on, pushing past the pain. I removed it within a month, healed my neck by stretching, I lost 30 lbs, now I train calisthenics, got a new car and a better job. David Goggins is truly an inspiration and showing us what we are capable of. 🔥🔥🔥

@@YogawithAliBeale you and me both. The ONLY time in my 47 years that I had constant motivation to finish ANYTHING was when I was in the Army in 2003 and the Drills were in my face screaming at me to do xyz. I can't be my own DS. And I hate me for that. I really do. Because soon as I was discharged for (oh the irony here) stress fractures in both tibias and heels as well as the femur where that bone fits into the socket of my pelvis was ready to shatter at any moment, that DS was gone and to this minute I'm the same old 'motivated in my mind but zero drive to do jack shit except feel sorry for myself, make plans that fail and procrastinate' David helps me for a little while get the drive to actually DO, but then it fades and 5 years pass and I'm back to the same 'I wish I could'. I really detest myself. I can't get shit done without someone (a Drill sgt) screaming in my face. I'd need to hire a retired drill to be at my side 10 hrs a day 365 for me to actually be someone I don't know how to fix this. I'm wasting my life. I hate it. I hate me.

Can you sign up for a 30 day challenge or something? Make accountability for yourself. You can always do yoga with me on my channel lol. I was so lost in it I didn’t know there was a different way of thinking. Many physical ailments, surgeries and illnesses put me in a bad place. Then I discovered this guy. Instead of feeling hopeless and helpless I now know that mentally I can overcome and become the man I should’ve been and now am becoming

I see why he couldn't sleep in his bed. This man is amazing. I also had learning problems... in math (dyscalculia). No one could help me. I did what David did when I was 17. I wrote and re-wrote the problems until I could understand it. I tutored my own self because all of my tutors failed me. Teachers too... even my parents (they didn't have the knowledge to help). I didn't feel sorry for myself. I took responsibility. I'm a special ed teacher now. And a damn good one too. I'm buying his book today.

Long story short went from 235lbs to now 180lbs, ended my career, no exercise for 20 years. Changed my diet to WFPB and started training and completed several sprint triathlons getting on the podium for my age group one time. And recently did an Olympic distance triathlon 2 weeks ago and came first in my age group and 29th out of 600. I listen to Goggins almost everyday and have listened to the whole book 3 times. I totally understand the beatings this guy took when young and what it does to someone mentally. He showed me the way and I’m never looking back. #CantHurtMe.

I've gone through a lot of pain and loneliness. after two months I lost 20 kg, and after 6 months I ran 18 km. I felt like a hero. I wasn't a professional athlete. but I was and I am a winner. it is always me vs. me. it's not about your physic it's all about your character, spirit, and will power. that experience made me a different person not just physically, but mostly mentally. we MUST SUFFER to get better. there is no other way around.

@Albert Johnson I hear what you're saying, trust me. But the world kids face today isn't the one I faced as a kid. The internet is a whole different dynamic. It's not just the bullied at school, it's adult bullies online, its predatory adults. We have to teach kids how to be strong and independent. They must be protected too. We forgot where we come from, and we're failing as a species. Everything we're supposed to be doing, we're not.. That's why anxiety and depression rates are so high.

It’s like you have to be ready to receive the word of Goggins. And if you do there’s no turning back. I feel there is no getting through to him. He just lives in his constant lies about his health. It’s all self hated from the abuse we suffered growing up. I just have no idea how to slap him or get him out of it. I even offered to pay for his counseling and he turned that down. But you know what I think I’m just going to challenge him on it next time we talk. Goggins helped me so much. I CAN RELATE TO HIS LEARNING DISABILITY. I WAS LIKE 🗣 YES!! I WASN'T ALONE! NOW AFTER WATCHING HOW HARD HE FOUGHT TO GET WHERE HE IS, I KNOW I CAN GET TO WHERE GOD WANTS ME, EVEN AT MY AGE OF 49. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING. #DETROIT #LOVE 🥰😊

I admire everything about him. His whole story, the way he reacted, the way he swears , the fact that he is an introvert, his will, hunger, discipline. All of it.
