Maybe you already found out. But you can’t defeat the stolen resource with Lando’s ability. It specifically says “Defeat a resource you own and control”. You don’t own the stolen resource.

so i’m gonna keep it a buck with you. Not that Karrabast has a bug with what you were trying to with DJ, but the action is, you have 5 resources, you play landos ability to smuggle for 2 resources less. The only issue is, when you smuggle you take the card you want to smuggle out of your resources then pay the cost, which would only be 4. So you technically didn’t have enough.

That does make sense, but how smuggling usually works, you can exhaust the resource you’re smuggling out, basically paying for itself. So with smuggle 5, you should be able to pay your 5 resources, play your DJ, then destroy one.
