This method is not trustable, if the connection is faulted how can you guarantee that the Tag is being recorded? You need to handle any exceptions generated (such as PLC offline, Database connection offline, table deleted, etc) maybe with a Try/Cath and a fault bit in the PLC. It would also need some store (when faulted) and forward Tags when back online to prevent data loss.
