After he said bent pin,.....I looked and yup mine was bent,....first I looked at the other end,....the ejector had a spot worn on the receiver and it didn't match the ejector till I bent it straight. And then it was perfect. Great info.

Thanks for the video, I have a 1979 winchester (bought it new) 1200, damn, I'm getting old. Cleaning it today, and low and behold the bolt won't come forward. Looking into the bent pin thing.

Thnx; great video. I just bought a model 120 Winchester, by the looks of it I knew it was an older gun so for $250 and I wanted a 12 gauge long gun for trap and alround bird duck goose turkey whatever.. haven't picked it up yet but looking at all these youtube'r videos on it I know now that it was a good pick plus I know Winchester is a good well made product.

My ejector plate won't stay in place. The ejector pin itself looks slightly bent and slid out of place a bit. I paid $75 for it. The parts are $45 for the new ejector plate, a new ejector pin, and a new spring for the ejector plate. Can you post a video of removing and replacing the ejector pin?

For $120.00 total between the shotgun and parts it seems worth it to fix. I have heard these old Winchester defenders are better made than newer 870s. The idiot before me used high temp black engine paint and painted the barrel and mag tube it's ugly but still seems worth fixing and reviving.

Is the pin supposed to sit at a straight, 90* angle, parallel with the receiver?

hey, i have the 1300 and for some reason the ejector arm keeps coming loose and preventing me from cocking. What do i do to fix this issue? then pin is not bent.

Show one on magazine tube removal for the 1300. Is it press fit or screw in type? I want to modify my 5 shot to 8 shot.

+gavelboy01 You have to drive the magazine tube inwards, with the cap on. Then remove the feed throat/throats. Pull the tube outwards and align the splines. Then use a slide hammer to remove the tube from the receiver. Place your new tube in place and align the splines on the tube with those in the receiver. Screw the magazine cap on the end of the tube. Drive in the tube into the receiver and install the feed throat/throats on the mag tube. Align the spines and use a slide hammer to pull the throats and mag assembly into place.

@spartan765 Winchester made the best shotguns all around. Benelli who are they? Bunch of over priced wanabees. Oh and the 870 can go into the outhouse too. Give me a 1897 a 1957 or a 1200 and 1300. Winchester made the best scatter guns.

Some defenders don't have a pin from the factory..some do mine does and I can't get the ejector plate to stay. My pin looks bent. Paid $75 for the shotty. So 45 bucks in parts seems worth it to fix. Will be a pita but i enjoy challenging projects
