I have tested both hst 45 and ranger t 45 and the both expand to 1.00".... the best 9mm can expand to .70... but usually around .55-.60. Those are some absolutely monstrous bullets. I know everyone says 9mm is just as good... but when we talk pistol bullets, they only damage what they actually touch. They dont have enough energy to get the secondary advantages (maybe 357 and 44 mag will) from velocity. So i find it hard to believe a 1" projectile and a .60" projectile produce the same wound. Just my thinking though. I personally carry a g19 or 26... but i love shooting 45 and keep my 1911 loaded with win ranger t plus p 230gr. Its absolutely insane. Thanks for the video!

This round is putting out 388 ft/lbs of energy. In 9mm it puts out 423 ft/lbs. 45 is literally negligible from a 9mm round that you can carry much more of and get nearly the same expansion from.

​@GabrielCarterEGA on winchesters website they literally say 383 ft lbs for 9mm 446 for 45 acp at the muzzle. Not that it's the end all be all, but you might want to check your numbers before you post them incorrectly.

@@GabrielCarterEGA my chronograph disagrees with yours. But interesting nonetheless. I still doubt that 9mm is getting that velocity unless it is plus P. That's pretty warm even by underwood standards. 45 +p can be pushed where more than 9mm +p. 185 grains at 1200.

Winchester Ranger T is my favorite #1 all around Ammo in most calibers. Federal Premium HST coming in 2nd Place. Then I start looking at Civil Defense - Underwood specialty & stuff for specific situations.

Check out tools & targets review of this ammo in the gel with heavy clothing. I saw a bunch of plain gel stuff and bought 500 rounds from aim surplus. Then I watched his in heavy clothing and I will still use it but it’s basically fmj in the cloth. Great work otherwise man. Appreciate the work put in.

I like to think Vincent from Collateral would've used these bullets. Back in the day the International Wounding Ballistic Association had many articles showing the effectiveness of these bullets. From a USP Elite with a 6 inch barrel the average penetration in clear ballistics of a 4 shot group in gel was 15". It would've been a 6 shot group but two passed through the 16.5" gel block.

1911 and Ranger T. The perfect combination. I have no need to experiment with any other pistol or defense ammunition. If you would like to try it and are unable to find it at your local ammo retailers or online, head to a gun show, hold your nose, and head on inside. You will almost certainly find at least one ammo seller inside that carries it.

That is a chunk of lead! Well you have to practice with any platform. And as with anything NO ONE IS PERFECT! I would tend to believe that with the low Extreme Spread that there is potential for decent accuracy. The Officers Model is a carry gun and not Bullseye gun! Plus if the gun is not sighted in for the load, that is whole another aspect

Looks like Winchester did it right on that projectile, thanks for showing what it does in gel. A tip on removing those bullets from gel, get a straight jaw hemostat with enough reach, poke in and grab em. I think you know a place where to come by a set. 8-)

I wish people would not term any instrument of violence "God's caliber." People who have accepted Him as their only means to salvation knows that God is not a firearm enthusiast. The term is a bit sacrilegious to those who strive to live their lives to His glory. Me, I love guns. Regarding handguns and carry options and as a retired career cop, my favorite is a 1911 in 45acp. It is in fact the best of any bad guy stoppers without toting around the big magnums. The 357M is likely the actual best, but for me, the blast and flash is a bit much. Repeatable shots from a 1911 are easy for a seasoned shooter. Anyway, this response is irrelevant to those who don't know Christ. Without Him, saving your life or that of a loved one, gives you or them only a finite number of hours or years of life. Didn't mean to preach; just an item to consider.
