I just bought a popup Viking yesterday and somehow, with my next door neighbor's fantastic coaching, we were able to get my popup in the garage with a few inches on each side and 6 inches length-wise. Just like finding a good parking space in the city, now I don't want to move the camper because it's tucked away so well! If our HOA won't approve a mod to make our 2-door garage into a single door -- and even if they do approve it -- this is a great way to alleviate stress and anxiety at the end of a camping trip. Thanks so much for posting. Ciao from Kennesaw, Georgia!

A couple questions.. did you consider attaching the winch to the trailer, and only a hook to the floor? If you did, why did you decide to attach it to the floor? If you didnt, do you see or think of any down sides to attaching the winch to the pop up? Thanks for the video!!!
@SoloCampingAdventures Жыл бұрын
It’s personal preferences. Attaching winch to the floor gives me option to pull in garage anything (trailer, car, boat) attaching to the trailer you are stock with the trailer.

What type of trailer dolly are you using? I am looking at the tow tuff adjustable one that can handle 600 lb of tow weight. It will be for our Rockwood popup A frame trailer that has just under 300lb tongue weight. Thank you!
@SoloCampingAdventures4 жыл бұрын
I bought mine from harbor freight tool Its rated 600 lb, it works fine for my a-frame www.harborfreight.com/600-lb-heavy-duty-trailer-dolly-60533.html?_br_psugg_q=trailer+dolly

What is the tongue weight of that a-frame? The trailer dolly's axle is visibly bent (see 4:12, the tires are probably at 15 degree angle)

Thanks for the video. Long time RVer (class B and C), but getting a new A Liner pop up camper I plan to store in garage. I stumbled onto this video and I don't think I appreciate setup because I don't understand the challenges. When you first backed up, you were already in the garage. Why did you then use the hand valet to pull it out of the garage and then a winch to pull it back into the garage? Is it because of the angle of your driveway and the need to get the trailer within inches of where you want it parked inside the garage? And the dolly is too heavy? Thanks!
@SoloCampingAdventures4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. Good point. I have couple of reason not to push my camper all the way in garage with my Tahoe. First and main one: Driveway is too narrow, to straight the camper up, and my neighbor doesn't like when I drive on his grass, plus there is a sprinkler system. Second reason: because i need to put my vehicle in garage too, so camper side must be exactly 6-7 in from the center of garage. Very precise fit :) And why I use electrical winch? because driveway has a slope and incline about 5 degrees, its very hard without the winch to push camper in garage. I hope it make some sense.

I'm awaiting delivery of my first camping trailer, a Flagstaff T12RB, same as the A122. I've been wondering how a newbie like me was going to back the thing into my garage with only 2" clearance on each side after accounting for all the things sticking out of the trailer's sides. Problem solved! Thanks!
